- he launch of BMW’s latest fully electric scooter the CE 04 would see us head to Melbourne to test the full electric offering in the southern capitals urban sprawl and find out if this funky electric offering is indeed the ultimate way to navigate the city hustle bustle…
But first a brief presentation from the good people at BMW Motorrad, which highlighted the tech and design features of the CE 04. We got a glimpse of what the future holds for the German marque. Although there is plentiful design for future electric models there is still no commitment to end production of I.C.E motorbikes in the near future.
The CE 04 builds on a process that began in 2014 with BMW’s first electric pilot bike, the C-Evolution electric scooter, which went on to sell more than 8,000 units globally before being cut from the Motorrad line-up in 2020. Fast forward to 2022 and BMW’s CE 04 is now on sale in more than 38 countries, with strong results thus far. It’s now Australia’s turn to experience it, and potentially fall in love with the electric scooter.

Mine is already in the shop after three months of ownership. Never again will I buy another BMW, nor will I recommend a BMW bike.
You keep posting it everywhere. Your bike is under warranty right? Nothing is without failure. It’s unfortunate, but even the best can have issues.
How did you like the taller windshield?
Hi Ron - let us check with Andrew the rider and get back to you.
Is it available in USA
U don't want one. After three months, mine is in the repair shop. Don't waste ur money
Too expensive for what it is.
Same with everything electric atm.
I live electric transport and electric bikes excite me the most but not at these prices and let's face it relatively short ranges.
My DIY ebikes cost me £500 and are a lot of fun and having pedals gives me zero range anxiety.
I really want build e c90 keep seeing big bosch hub motors on e scooters road legal ones ! But pain in rear when it comes to plug laptop in compter say no
how many kgs
Styling ques from the Sinclair C5
Haha we thought so too 😀
I can easily buy this scooter, but there are some major problems with it:
1. BMW historically poor reliability and expensive service costs.
2. Lack of wind protection.
3. Lack of storage, or minimal storage.
4. This scooter will age in 3-5 years and will be discontinued. Good luck finding parts for it after that.
5. Questionable battery quality and longevity.
BMW has lost my trust over the year and they will have to gain it back, but won't be easy. I have the feeling that I will read online articles about this scooter in few years and all the problems people are having with it. Hopefully I'm wrong... only time will tell.
It certainly looks like an interesting scooter. Weight seems high for a scooter.
Yeah it is! All battery...
@@BikeReviewcomau thought that may be the case. Great review, looking forward to testing one out
What’s the top speed ?
120km/h - 75mph
Would you recommend this on the highway 110? I weigh 70kgs
@@MrKrimstah Highways eat up battery, so not ideal for this machine...
Did you seriously call this a mobility scooter?
Just sticking with what BMW call it... Urban Mobility Scooter... So, yeah. Sounds a bit like it should be off to the shops on the footpath haha.
@@BikeReviewcomau Ah, might be a regional thing, never understand why those electric golf carty thingamajigs are somehow called scooters.
Mobility or otherwise.
@@jeeves6490 Yeah it is a weird name!
Why so expensive, is it made in Ukraine?
