I was just as excited when I unboxed mine haha. Luckily they changed the listing to warn about the handles being broken. I was lucky and only the screw posts were broken on mine. It really is one of the most beautiful canisters in my collection.
Had one of those 8 years ago, though the power nozzle mine had was similar to Miele's 236. Pity about the breaking plastic. Power regulator was like the early Sebo C3's (would "thrumb" when vac was powered up). Generally worked ok (noted unusual tapered WW hose - supposedly Lindhaus also uses it for their Aria ) but decided to donate Bosch to a Cat shelter (the Miele canisters I use proved quieter and less quirky).
Was a direct Bosch internet dealer back in the day, sold a mst of them. I believe the 8396 model had headlight and speed control on grip. Good luck finding a hose, we couldn't get them direct for warranty.
I think I found the seller you purchased it from on eBay. If it is this is listed in the description ""'This is a 800.00 German Bosch Vacuum Cleaner with motorized power head BSG8130UC new in the box!!! Discontinued model sold as is. Sold As Is at this price for parts only ! They work you can expect the trim on the handle to crack. These are new in the box no warranty of any kind. Just that they are new. If the box looks damaged refuse it there are no returns. The trim on the hose handle can be brittle and the post that hold the screws crack. If it cracks it just tape it or zip tie it this is not a functional part and wont affect operation You can apply an epoxy to the seam in the pictures and it will last forever the picture is one I taped with metal tape and works just fine. They are new in the box they have been in a warehouse for 10 years.""" I'm thinking thinking there may be a reason they don't sell Bosch vacuums in the US anymore.
The eBay seller I purchased it from stores them outside in a shed in Waco Texas where temperatures get exceedingly hot storing anything like this without any sort of temperature control is les then responsible.
Im looking for the switch for this vacuum cleaner, does anyone know where I can find it? I've searched everywhere Ebay, Amazon, Alibaba you name it, I've searched. I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE!!
As stated in the video do not buy this for a daily driver it will come broken there are no parts available. Go get a SEBO or Miele it's worth every penny.

Nice. I really want to find Premium Prestige that looks similar to this but Silver and gray.
I also have a Bosch canister
My aunt has a Bosch Compacta 72 from the 90's. They had it for decades now and it still works!.
Items sold 60 years-30 years ago had so much better quality than now
I Have a Philips vacuum from the 80's that has been through thick and thin and still works perfectly
@@mjp23 In some cases that's true but there's always exceptions. For example Sebo has kept up their excellent quality over the past decades
Holy shit that is quiet!!

@@PerformanceReviews I will soon buy a Siemens Dino vacuum cleaner
Bosch bags have a fabric barrier inside. There is a seam two inches long near the opening of the bag.

Sad that the handle came cracked
The gasp haha
Do you think it's a good idea to buy this? I am
Looking to buy sebo vacuum but it is almost 1k

@@PerformanceReviews can you haggle prices on Sebo or Miele. I went to the vacuum store and they were not willing to go below the marked price.
@@PerformanceReviews you can Bosch sphera unboxing
This is certainly a rarity now a days! However, they have left a legacy and that stinks the hose is cracked.
It’s a shame . U can’t buy parts from a European company, address, online ?
You could probably part out a siemens dynopower for spare parts
