@@blenderpain8249 it's because the writers of both the original novel & the drama made it clear that despite thematical & plot similarities, "Ruyi" is not the actual sequel of "Zhen Huan", hence why some noticeable retcons

for one the original novels "Zhen Huan _zhuan_ " & "Ruyi _zhuan_ " aren't actually connected: the former is set in a fictional dynasty/state, while the latter is specifically set during the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty

can someone explain about lianxin? was she loyal or being grateful to the empress later on? Before she committed suicide, she covered for the Empress, but from my understanding Lianxin was always on guard after this episode. So, why did Lianxin cover up for the Empress when she died?
at first she was loyal to Langhua, as expected of servants
but after being granted marriage to Wangchan and experiencing all that domestic violence she turned her back on her mistress while maintaining outward loyalty, all thanks to Ruyi
in the novelization of the drama (basically Liulianzi's "Ruyi _zhuan_ " 2.0), Hailan held 3rd prince Yongzhang's repaired cloth doll, and subtly dropped it on the ground. Lianxin saw it, and Hailan not-so-subtly says "2nd prince should avoid reed flowers". Then it switches to Lianxin POV exposition wherein she notes Langhua will never ever know the PTSD she has endured & suffered from Wangqin, and long story short, she brings the doll towards 2nd prince Yonglian and lets him play with it (which explains why she was there in the first place)
Lianxin's šụıćįđə was her sort-of apology to her now-dead mistress, since they can now square off in the netherworld/afterlife

She could have "betrayed" her mistress and still lived without having to kill herself out of being grateful. Since yanwan servants "betrayed" her for survival. I guess the director just wants to weed out the lesser characters. Thank you again for thr insight

with regards to Lianxin's death, just know that in East Asia, *whistleblowers are actually treated as pariah-esque traitors* , no matter the exposé (whether be it morally true or fabricated), due to the Confucian teaching of _zhong_ (忠 lit. "loyalty"); nonwithstanding the fact that also in Confucian teaching a servant can be disloyal to his master if there was reason enough for betrayal
one quote from Ruyi (to her servants following the downfall of A'ruo) summarizes the sentiment: 一次不忠，百次不用 ( _yici buzhong, baici buyong_ "Just once disloyal, a hundred times useless")
@@user-ix1rp9ff3p I love that phrase when ruyi said it. Really seem as if she is saying it with passionate hate even though zhou xun was just acting the part out. I still think it is silly that lian xin has to die. She could have still been loyal as ultimately the loyalty of the servants would to the emperor even if the empress is in charge, as lying to the emperor is kin to committing a grave offense. But thank you. I love this show and i will continue to repeat it. Bengong xi huan 😝☺️
Lianxin felt guilty for not calling out when Langhua fell in the water, she retreated. Also for her younger siblings to be taken care of by the Fuca family.
It was implied during the mourning when the camera panned to Lianxin.

是因為電視劇是姊妹篇 原著才是後宮甄嬛傳的續集 後宮如懿傳 可是你看電視劇只是如懿傳 並沒有後宮二字
但是你可以從阿箬的身上看到甄嬛傳青櫻的影子 是因為青櫻入宮後 發現她的姑母其實在皇宮過的不容易 加上見識到了後宮的爾虞我詐 這才收斂了起來
