Hello Russell
Goodnight.
This supermarket is reminiscent of some Low Cost supermarkets that exist in Portugal.
The prices are interesting in comparison with the prices in Portugal, as a general rule they are lower in Russia, now it is interesting to know what the average salary is in that city, since with the values that are said to be earned in Russia, it is not possible to buy a lot thing.
It is often said that a Russian worker earns on average in the range of 300/400 Euros, approximately 330/440 Dollars per month.
Was interesting to know the real values of salaries and home income.
Here in Portugal, with these values you would have to sleep on the street, but it all depends on other expenses, rent, water, electricity, telephone. gas, etc.
Hugs and congratulations on the video
We don’t have Belarusian supermarkets or food here. They probably just label it as Russian food.
@@josesaraiva9566
You’re incorrect.! Average Russian salaries for non technical work averages over 200,000 Russian Roubles, approximately $2,00.00 usd. You can easily double that if you’re technically competent. SMO participants are given over 600,000 Russian Roubles.
@@alyonapetrova694
Good night,
Hello Alyona Petrova
Thanks for the info.
Here in the West and especially in Portugal, there is a lot of talk about Russia that I don't believe, because with salaries of 300 or 400 Dollars it would be almost impossible to live with those prices, even though they are cheaper in Russia than here.
Yesterday for example, I bought the potato for €1.39= 139 Ruble (€1.00=100Rubles) and the carrot and onion for €0.99= 99 Rubles, this in a low-cost Chinese store, in supermarkets it is substantially more expensive.
All the best to you, with health and peace.
We imported into NZ clothing from Belarus
Fantastic quality
Chesnok means garlic but also there's a common expression "po chesnoku" which means fairly, honestly, no bs. So there's double meaning going on with the name
So interesting! Thanks for sharing that.

Still, Belarusian products are probably some of the best in Europe. I often take products from them. Something remains of Soviet quality)
They have some excellent products. My wife loves their Salami and Deli meats.
They are good because they don't add extra preservatives that are harmful for human and they typically dont add artificial colors if you read the labels. Its always best to have a product with smallest ingredients list as possible.
Soviet quality was great with cars, supersonic jetliners, apartments blocks, and the sheer variety of goods in the stores before 1989! Paradise.

Hi Russell! I live in Oryol and it’s fun to get city news from an Australian 😁 and a little weird too! I did not know about this opening. This Rio mall has never been popular here due to its poor location. The few times I visited the mall the traffic was extremely low. I was surprised the new Belarus supermarket chose Rio but at second thought, if it’s a discounter it makes sense to me. The rent should be low enabling them to offer low prices. I would never go to a supermarket opening, see no point. The shopping options in the city are incredibly abundant from convenience stores located in the residential districts, hypermarkets, permanent and pop-up and weekend markets to delivery from many of them. Belarus produce is considered of good quality here and you can find little Belarus departments in regular convenience stores and supermarkets like Pyaterochka. I just returned from Lipetsk that you mentioned. Stayed at a friend’s place in a little village. And they had a Belarus department there selling dairy and meats. Thanks for your video, really enjoyed!

Quite amazing for the opening of a supermarket!
It was a great experience being there.
It's still strange to See Washed or Unwashed Vegetables. But Thanks again Mr. Russell for swimming through the sea of people for us. ❤❤😂😂
Unwashed vegetables:
1. better stored
2. they are much cheaper, since the price does not include the cost of washing and drying.
There was an experiment, the rabbit was given washed and unwashed carrots, the rabbit chose the unwashed one.

Yes i was once in my life at an opening. A cold winter evening. The queue was outside. Why is this "garlic" so popular? The price or the quality ?

I think it's a combination of both. The idea of these hard discount stores is very simple. stock on pallets, paper printed signs. And source good quality products.

Do any of the supermarkets in Russia have special scooters for elderly and disabled shoppers like they do in stores like Walmart? I would love to check out this store and some of the others you did videos on but they are so huge. I can't walk very far at all. The prices in this store were quite reasonable. The selection was very good. Stores in the US aren't as clean or well run as the ones you show on this channel, Thank you Russell!
Elderly people can order food and medicine to their home. Another possibility is to ask the social worker to buy everything you need. These systems are very developed in Russia and there is no need to visit the store if your order is delivered within 15-60 minutes.
Unfortunately, there are no special scooters for elderly and disabled shoppers in Russia. I've never seen in Russia anything like this. The government pays much less attention to such people than in the United States.

Man the sanctions really work, 16:17 certainly a lack of drinks :)
there is no sanctions on drinks or food? you must be really brainwashed. having a big surplus is also a sign of bad economy. just look at china creating millions of EVs not selling, sitting on a field rusting. they do this to try to keep the economy going.
Товары Белорусии отличаются качеством и низской ценой.
👍😁
The only problem with sanctions is that they promote internal economic cash flow encouraging companies to withhold a large amount of local currencies - garage them and with this they create inflation as the government has to use more to keep money circulation at a safe level. Limiting the foreign currency float to the country`s reserve banks devaluing their own currency while boosting local manufacturing. The prices are very good by the way, in Hungary we pay a lot more for these products making I think less compared to the people of Russia. True WWE has mainly Western brands here for what you pay premium mainly because the formula they use provides better results but not always better quality, intellectual property also added to the price, and social prestige, I know it sounds stupid but it is often the case. People are buying more expensive products because they think it is better and they think other people will look up to them - thinking they are rich and they can use this fake social image to their own advantage. :D I am trying to become an accountant, so that is all the details.

Приедь и послушай а главное почитай вывески. Там оба языка равноправные.
that is rooted in history. Old Russian evolved as Russian proper in the cities, towns and monasteries in Belaya Rus, whereas in the rural areas, especially in the western part seized (yes, it was seized ! ) by Poland, Polish influenced the development of the western dialects of Old Russian somewhat. Russian and Belarussian are very close, and save for some dialectal differences Belarussian orthography inmany cases looks essentially as a phonetic transcription of Russian 😅
