- In this weeks video Tracy makes the Austrian blinds, for our Chateau Farmhouse bedroom and also upholsters the headboard. Budo continues to work on re-building the front wall inside. Budo takes a trip to our friends Roy and Clare's farm to look at our future investment.

The skills you both have never fail to amaze me. I would like one day for you to do a vlog about your history and where in particular Budo you have learned and practiced your skills. I am certain there is a very interesting story to be told which I am sure your followers would be interested in. You strike me as a leader and one that would not suffer fools.

We glued a rubber strip on our authentic old Hungarian top doorway. When people walk against it they bump against a rubber strip. Happened only once in 11 years

Hi Veronica thank you glad you liked it all the electric connection to the cottage we haven't heard any news on yet as they have to dig up the road and lay new cables because no one lives in any of the property's there they won't I fear make it a priority but we shall see we have plenty to get on with any way 😮☺️🥰

Cozy bedroom. Love those drapes. I have a very low door in my travel trailer....I have a small stuffed duck toy I hang in front of the opening....get it "DUCK!" It is just a thought for your low door. Keep up the good work.

Are you going to do a vapor barrier up there? I've been watching a couple do the inside walls of their stone interior with lime, sand, and hemp. Fascinating.
Hi Susan, no vapor barriers for us we have two foot and over external walls, and they need to let the vapor move in and out of the building and not trap any moisture at all lime and hemp are a new concept there hasn't been enough study on the hemp to see if it will rot out with in twenty years and start the lime breaking down that's why the old timers only used the finest of horse hair in there lime mix

Well I was a little concerned about the lack of videos, thought maybe you got more than expected on Halloween lol.. the re enforcing of the wall is coming along nicely, preparation is always the most important thig and takes the time but sure things will move ahead on this soon.
Fantastic job Tracy, the blinds look amazing and what a perfect find, the golden tassel braiding is perfect.
Loved seeing all the animals an poultry at your friends small holding, took me back to the small farm my grandfather had in the early 60´s.

I hope this is not a silly question, do the Austrian blinds go down like Roman blinds? They are gorgeous! Budo and Tracy you are artisans! Everything you do you do with excellence!
Thank you Stkn Mggs, yes they do, and the cords are cut so when they are closed it sits half way up the blind with the acorn on the end, the only thing with Austrian blinds when you pull them to open them you have to fuss a little to make them look right 🤗🍂

Hi Miles if you haven't got any rooms at all in what you are calling your barn then i would go and speak with the Maries office to clarify mate ours had old rooms and floors if before, so it wasn't a problem hope this helps 🍺🤠🤞

The bedroom looks beautiful, lovely colours. I had to smile when Budo said Tamworth was famous because of the pigs, me being born and bred there. There are other interesting facts about Tamworth, it was the capital of Mercia and sir Robert Peel ( the founder of the British police force, hence Bobbies) lived there.

Farms reeducate people in the city that the animals we think of as pets are also food. The pigs looked really cute but I guess you can’t look at them like that if you’re going to be a farmer. Its only open fire places that are discouraged we have a wood burner and many thousands of homes have them in there bedrooms here in France

Will the main room be open to the ceiling.? Your roof structures will be so beautiful I’m hoping you can show some of it off and maintain the wonderful height. However, with needing to insulate I know that might not be possible. I’m excited to stay tuned for all the homesteading videos 😃

All the best to you two, on your journey! There are so many unique individuals, and there family’s, restoring all kinds of different chateaus all over 🇫🇷 France! Each of you have your own vision! I hope and pray 🙏 that UA-cam can give everyone a leg up financially! Restoration is through the roof expensive! I live out in the Atlantic, on a small island, with over 10,000 (200 year old) structures in its historic district! Restorations have to be exacting, and preapproved! There is even a historic presidential retreat here, that has been historically renovated, and is now a museum! Cheers!
