Surprise meeting with Paul today at the Dam, Just as pleasant and helpful in person. I am a real newbie that just passed my 107 and have already got a couple of contracts. The thing is to know your limitations and the clients expectations. Don't oversell , under promise and over deliver. Since I am a retired photographer I'm only doing work for people I know, I really don't want a new career or to take income out of the pockets of working pro's. Been there. As a aside I did mention that there were areas on the 107 test that have not been discussed on You tube yet , but I'm sure Drone U will be providing guidance as the new laws evolve. A nice chance meeting.
I think we will see a shift in independent contractors to companies just paying employees to get a part 107 or at least a manager who can supervise others. More automation means less skill needed and lower entry barriers for companies to incorporate drones rather than having to hire a pilot that specializes in drones.
Very interesting program. Wish it could’ve gone on even longer on some of the points. One question I have on addressing legality involves using drones for surveying and mapping in farming which is a necessity and is a huge market. Maybe there is legislation allowing it but it seems to me every mapping and survey of a large area is illegal because it is beyond line of sight. How do you address that issue.

I have the best of the best questions... Who's Cara and what kind of biz she runs? :)
