Enjoyed your floss tube. Your quilt turned out really pretty. I actually did that pattern myself when I was a new quilter and found that it was a nice beginner quilt. Thanks for sharing your stitching spot. It’s kind of neat to see how everybody does their stitching.
Hi Kim, I saw my mom yesterday and asked her about matrimonial squares, and she said she thinks she's heard them called that but that she never did. Great job on your stitching. Your ornaments are so cute. Love your quilt, Sunflowers are one of my favourite flowers, I stitch a lot of them. I stitch at a table, too. I find it helps my neck and back. I have a tiny room that I've turned into my stitching room.
Yes, that’s exactly why I prefer a table too, my back and neck can only handle so much! Thanks so much for the kind comments, I love that you asked your mom about matrimonial squares!
I really like your quilt!! That is a great achievement, especially for a first project!! Nicely done!! And I envy your stitching spot!! I'm still trying to find my comfortable space; for right now, I stare at a blank white wall, when not watching FlossTube videos. I look forward to future videos and progress updates on your WIPs, etc. Take care and God Bless.
Love your rustic pointsettia ornaments! And you have such a nice stitching spot. ☺️ I usually just stitch on the couch. It’s comfy and I like being able to hang out with my family while I stitch, and the couch is kind of our hub.
@@amymmakes love that the couch is your families hub! My stitching spot is just a few feet from the living room, so we are never very apart! From time to time I stitch on the couch too! Thanks for watching!
I grew up in Saskatchewan, close to Saskatoon but I have lived in Calgary for the past 5 to 6 decades of my life. Still very near and dear to my heart. ❤
Hi Kim! I live in north Central Idaho. My favorite stitching spot is a big cushy chair in my main living area. I can sit, stitch and watch flosstubes on my Ipad. Love your content and finishes. Very cute ornaments. Love your motivation for the craft!
I love your mischievous kitty! He’s so handsome. When I had a cat, I too would put soft ornaments at the bottom of the tree. Luckily, she wasn’t a climber! ~Elizabeth
I loved video!! Spice is a beautiful cat, such unique coloring!! I too am a model stitcher. I like model stitching because I’m more of a process stitcher. I only have so much wall space and you can only give so much stuff away!! Your finishes are great and inspire me on how to do some finishing. This was the first video of yours that I watched, so now I get to go watch the other three you have posted!! I look forward to seeing more of your videos and stitching!!
@@dianebeeman3084 thank you so much! Spice is a pretty special kitty, we love his unique markings, interestingly he is just a regular old farm cat, no special breeding!
What fabulous view from your stitchy spot! I tend to move all over the place to stitch but truthfully, my kitchen has the best natural light...but the fridge makes it too tempting to over snack, so I tend to stitch where it is darker with lots of artificial light. In the summer that is totally different as we spend half the week at our cottage which has an entire wall of windows and double patio doors, so the natural light is fantastic! Early morning stitching there is the best before we head out on the boat for afternoons on the boaters' beach 🪡
I have never heard of matrimonial squares! But they sound delicious and I’ll search for a recipe. Another great episode. It’ll be fun to see what you do with the finishing supplies you bought. I struggle with finishing and seem to just make pillows or frame pieces. I need inspiration and j think you’re giving me lots. Thank you 😊 Suzette
I was so glad to see this video. I was kitting up projects last weekend. The Prairie Schooler no. 14 was on that I planned to kit up. The red threw me for a loop and I did t kit it up. I will be getting it back out and ready to go.😊
That’s fantastic…yes, a quick floss colour update and you are good to go! I find it interesting that a DMC colour would change that much but it obviously did!
Hi Kim! Enjoyed your video and seeing your stitching room. I grew up in Calgary and like to hear from fellow Canadians even though I moved away years ago. I stitch in front of my computer in the living room. I also enjoy seeing my front yard. Lots of the time I watch floss tube while I stitch. Like your tree ornaments and your quilt turned out great.
I love your videos. I plan to tell my stitchy friends about you. Keep up the good work. I have 2 spaces where I stitch- at my desk in my sewing studio and at my couch in the living room.
Kim...your kitten is so sweet...loved everthing you shared...nice finishing pieces...the one with the arch can be put face down on your printer and copied...the copy will make a nice pattern to duplicate...best wishes❤
Happy to find another Canadian flosstube channel! I am stitching the Canadian Sampler by Erin Elizabeth and loving it! Congrats on your lovely 6 ornaments that are ready to decorate your tree! Thanks for sharing how you made them - fabulous! I also prefer to stitch at a desk while I watch flosstubes!
Thanks so much for watching, I love getting to connect with fellow Canadian stitchers! The Canadian Sampler is such a good one, I have yet to stitch it but I do have the chart! Hopefully soon!
I enjoyed your video! I like the shorter ones, as I know I can definitely get through them. My stitchy place is not the best (my living room couch), but my “craft room” is full of card making supplies.
Hi Kim! Loved your video! If you are interested, Helen D posted a tutorial on her Flosstube that might help with the rounded top you were worried about! I stitch on the couch so I can watch TV with my husband.
Hi Kim. I am not on Instagram because of arthritis in my fingers so texting and such on the phone is not the best thing and I work full time so don't have time for Facebook - when I retire I intend to get on that. Wish there was another way of communicating without writing extra long comments - like this one 🤣Always love your stitching journey - brings back memories of when I was starting out. I also do other styles of embroidery besides cross stitch.
Love your projects and I also love ErinElizabeth Designs. She is amazing designer and I do miss her videos. However, I know she is busy designing more projects for us cross stitchers. I also stitch in my sewing room/granddaughter’s room. I have a L shape desk where I have my antique feather weight sewing machine in which I love to sew with. I have my lamps and my iPod and watch UA-cam videos and stitch in this desk. However, Is not always cross stitch, I knit a lot too. My sewing room is my favorite room because if I am not cross stitching, knitting, I am sewing. I have 2 sewing machines in my sewing room and they are in each sewing table ready for me to sew. Plus a bed for my granddaughter for the weekends and when she is not in school. She claimed this room as her bedroom! Keep up with your hobbies and you will learn more techniques as you keep quilting. Isn’t fun! I made quilts for all my grandchildren and they love them. Happy stitching!
Justice for Spice! He was just minding his business then got banished for no reason at all! 😸 I currently stitch at my desk because I have so many lights there. That may change eventually, but it works for now. Take care 'til next time.
You’re a natural Kim, love yr segment of cross stitch & quilting and who doesn’t love a kitty!! Ornaments turned out great too!
