I've been giddy as heck playing AW2. It's honestly like Remedy came to me and said "Do you mind if we finally make that game you've been dreaming about."
Same. I never thought we would get a sequel. And it somehow blew away my expectations.
It's so good, can't wait for the 2 dlc's to drop next year, I know one is called Night Springs but I can't remember the other
Control 2 has also started production but earliest we will see that is 2025 if we're lucky. and hopefully it won't be another 13 years until we get AW3

Sam lake is just a mastermind on story telling creating games that happend in paralleles you must be on much stuff to create such a thing haha this is a 20 years of storytelling from max payne to control

I mean, you could consider the original typewriter which Barbara forces us to write a novel in the first game as an OOP using in tandem with cauldron lake which is a place of power, to alter reality
@lokan_kuru8721 But OOP is a FBC designation and the FBC doesn't even know the Typewriter exists, so it can't be tested to find out if it is an OOP. Everything we know so far indicates the Typewriter is fueled by the Writer and The Dark Place. The writer writes, and The Dark Place makes it real. We don't really have anything to show the Typewriter itself is important to the ritual since the Andersons use instruments, and whatever Tom Zane is now seems to use a video camera/projector.
I'm not against the Typewriter being an OOP or an Altered Item I just haven't seen any evidence that the Typewriter is remotely important, it's just the tool Alan uses, the art and The Darkplace are the actual important ritual items in this case. I think real proof of this being the case is the Editor in AW2 uses a pen to scratch out and make edits and the edits still come true. The tool used to make the art just isn't important I don't think.
The manuscript pages are an altered item stemming from alan’s typewriter which is an object of power or possible oop, the lore states that the clicker requires further evaluation which means, yes there is no current evidence to suggest that the typewriter is an object of power
@@aureateseigneur5317 The type writer is the one Alans wife bought him as a gift in the first game, it's in the same spot, and the room is similar, the typewriter isn't anything close to an OOP, Cauldron lake is the Place of Power(it's not a lake it's an ocean)

I wouldn't go as far as to say the lake is a POP either, the lake itself could very well be an entity unto itself or an entrance an different dimension much like where the Former and The Board exist in a different dimension from our own.
Whatever it is it absolutly needs an artist of some kind to channel its power through, the artist creates the fiction, the lake makes it real. Without the artist it can't do anything but lay dormant. The delivery method for the art seems pretty irrelvant in the grand scheme of things.
i think he's talking about Dark Place Alex Casey, not Max. Due to copyright they couldn't do max and made some changes. And im sure they were already aware of that from the time this scene was being developed. It wouldnt make sense to talk about Max if they knew he wasnt going to be part of their future title alan wake 2.
Playing through alan wake 2 Alan wrote the character Alex Casey inspired by Max (due to copyright cuz rockstar).
Big difference between max and Casey is that Casey's family is alive while he dies in an alley in NYC. On the other hand, Max was still alive and lost his wife and kid.
Despite having the sam lake model, and o.g voice actor they're still 2 different people If you played through the game.. Also, are people in the comments (who played the game) seriously forgetting that (spoiler alert) Alan wake wrote Casey's death and we watch it happen from the writer's view? If you know its not Max good on you but if you think it is. Go play the game yourself and decide.

@dandubb9397 played alan wake 2. he's definitely talking about Saga and her partner Alex Casey. Casey even got mail connected to Alan's Manuscripts in the game. Give it a playthrough yourself. He talks about his Alex Casey books with Mr door. On top of more dialogue with his character in the darkplace

The theater lobby in alan wake 2 is also the same layout at the fbc lobby in control

some don’t agree, but the typewriter in my head is an OOP in itself (the one in bright falls that alan types on to finish the story both in AW1 and AW2), but even if it’s not individually categorized as an OOP it’s at least an integral part of the cauldron lake island and lake house, which is confirmed to be a Place of Power that the FBC has been actively monitoring since around 2010. that house is never shown without the typewriter and i think the house itself cannot materialize without it. it may even be formed around the typewriter itself, as it is the instrument that Zane the poet used to originally write an “ending” of sorts to close off the dark place, sacrifice himself, and “save” Barbara from it - just as Alan then must use it to “end” his story while sacrificing himself and saving Alice. yet another repetition to add to “it’s not a loop, it’s a spiral.”
so the typewriter in my mind is there and as “real” as any of these supernatural things or places can be in our reality. whether it is an OOP or not is up to the FBC to decide, because categorization of the otherworldly and supernatural probably involves the bland bureaucracy of frequently sorting things into the groups they kinda-sorta-probably fit into, in order to refer to it in some definitive way in govt documents etc.
i mean, the tomato is a vegetable by the US govt’s agricultural official guidelines, and ketchup technically counts as a vegetable in public school lunches. just because things are defined one way doesn’t always make it the truth, or at least not the whole truth.

There is a TV that shows a clip of Jessie, Door, and then the Night Springs logo. The first DLC is called Night Springs, so I would expect her and Door to play key roles in that DLC (and maybe even play a role in new game plus)

@@dojaboytan4559 so I believe Emil Hartman was possessed by the darkness(Taken) and the came into contact with the hiss which further changed him. Been a while since I played control DLC.
@@TitaniumBear24interesting, so if it means that the person effected by the Dark Place can get even more influenced by the hiss, I could see both kinds merging together in a future game. They seem to have the same goal, still, I don't see the role of Mr. Door yet. Maybe he is some kind of protector of the doors to different dimensions. Whatever happens, Remedy seem to already know where the big overarching story will go.
@@canylux they don’t both exactly have the same goals. They are both lovecraftian horror gods similar to Kami that embody an aspect of reality. The dark presence in the lake from AW desires to be free but it needs a creative to free it because it operates on a set of rules it has to adhere itself to. The hiss in control is an embodiment of a frequency/type of sound(take a guess), and they both are opposing forces in their quest for domination. That being said it’s not impossible for them to work together or to embody the same host but they drastically change each other to the point where they create something different. I think if either the hiss or dark presence had its way it would be the dominant force controlling the world while the other forces in these universes are robbed of as much influence as possible.

I don't understand the relation between a game called Alan Wake and Control
Dark place and FBC references
Both games are in the same universe, events that happened in Alan Wake are mentioned in Control and things from Control are in Alan Wake 2. The AWE dlc in Control features Alan Wake, the character of Emil Hartman from AW1 and many references to Bright Falls, The Darkness, etc.

Remedy wrote around that Casey is 100 percent Max Payne (sam Lake) original face model and they got the OG voice actor to voice him and they also wrote around Quantum Break so it's still kind of canon

The Night Springs episode of Casey & Saga looking for Alan (the story of Alan Wake 2) already appeared in Quantum Break, so they're definitely connected in lore..& we know who owns & produces "Night Springs" 👀 ... but Remedy don't own QB lol so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't mention it by name until they do
@@ProjectPhoenix21 Alan Wake wrote Alex Casey. Alex Casey is a proxy for Max Payne. Tim Breaker is a proxy for Jack Joyce. Alex Casey is connected to Alan Wake's writings and Tim Breaker is connected to Jesse Faden through something that will probably be explained either in the Lake House/Night Springs DLC or the sequel to Control
There's a drop in quantum break too. It references alan wake 2s the return.
