Damn! What are you using as a clipper in Live? Couple of the devices have a clipper stage (Glue, Saturation), but there's no straightforward clipper I think?
I personally don’t like the clipper function in compressors or something like this, because i want to keep it minimalistic. If I wanna create character in the peaks, I use more like saturation or in Ableton 12 we have the roar for this now.
