    Beautiful and well worth the wait and those doors and drawers adds an expensive and sofisticated look. I like the paint color on it too. Great job! I love it!

    Nice piece of furniture. Those reed doors give it an air of sophistication and luxury.
    I appreciate the accounting of your materials and what it would otherwise cost to buy it pre-made.
    Thanks!

    Looks great. I’m surprised how well those unglued joints seem to work. Very simple approach but a very nice cabinet. I really like it.

    That's the way I make drawers, but I screw the bottoms on. They last forever. Never saw the need to insert a bottom panel into grooves.
    Nice looking cabinet, Wes.

    I have done exactly what he is showing on the doors. It looked great for a while. However, it is in a kitchen with stuff in the air and on hands. It is next to impossible to get the little crevices around the bead clean. So now I have rebuilding the doors without the bead.

    Hi Wes, do you not do anything special when securing the solid wood top to allow for expansion and contraction? Thanks for the great videos!

  • @daveparker839
    @daveparker839 4 місяці тому

    Great looking piece! I’m a newbie so forgive me but why use the melamine instead of plywood? I assume cost? I always hate the particle board furniture and I realize this will last tons longer. Just seems to cheapen it so I assume it’s cost. Thanks for sharing all your expertise.

      If time isn't a concern, and you're careful about your tool purchases, this project could be done with a couple hundred bucks worth of old school hand tools.

    Wes, is there any issue with glue on the melamine? I thought it doesn't stick to melamine? Looks that the headless pins are doing all the work? Thanks!
