I remember seeing that first train from Southport to Liverpool at Freshfield station in 1978 while a friend and I were waiting for a train (to Southport). I remember the plaque on the front of the train as it pulled into the station.
So you were in the same coach as me, and remember a few people filming, but I can't remember who you are! Everyone I remember filming is in this video lol

Yes it is. Which is great to hear, it’s being moved down South as far as I’m aware.
Nice class 502 pin badge. The 502s were the northern line units before the class 507s came in 1978
