I am so glad you have been able to bring these videos back. They were a big motivator for me to keep practicing my art!! Also it's so cool to see the progress of the students but also to hear a teacher talk so positively of their students work
Thank you so much or posting the sketchbook tours again :). I love grabbing a cup of coffee and watching them, it's so enjoyable to see the each student's creative minds on display. Also, back when I was 16, I somehow came across this channel and it became a major contributing factor to my artistic growth. I didn't know much about art style, how to practice, or what the limits of stylization really were. So by watching the sketchbook tours I learned SO much. I heavily resonated with the idea of experimentation, since it's all I knew to do as a kid, and seeing it in the student's work helped me figure out how I could practice, by just trying out everything. I began sketching for hours each day and it really catapulted me forward. So thank you again for all that you offer here. I've been subscribed for years.
So cool that your students share these. It would be amazing to have former students on to see where they are now. I remember one about 10 years ago from.. I think his name is Iker that blew me away.
I always find it interesting that you can tell what Matt clearly likes, and wants the students to show off. My taste and what I want to keep looking at is usually totally different. I usually think, "How could you skip over that!" thank goodness for the pause button.
I've been watching your sketchbook videos from the beginning. I have been wondering if you have had follow up videos on how your past students have faired after school. Did they accomplish their dream? Have there been success stories you would like to pass on? I'm very curious about these talented artists whose work you have shared through the years.
I thought I seen that art style somewhere! It's so recognizable just seeing the eyes and the teeth! Man I'm a fan of her works and thank you for showing us your sketch book 💕! Also thank you so much for uploading this 🙌🤩!!
I have tons of prismacolor pencils for now. I have been mainly drawing in class on newsprint with a china marker style pencil. I have also been doing a ton of digital.
Well I gotta say. You’ve turned me on to them by watching your vids. I had to order some last week when I discovered they were being discontinued. I was in crisis mode because I really love drawing with them. They have a different feel. So I found some at a Internet store and bought what they had. Glad to see your back and love the sketch book series, very inspirational. Have a great weekend!

Joel, Maybe in the Summer. I am just swamped with teaching multiple classes.
Matt, Love Kayla’s sketch book! On a side note, what are you using now that Colerase pencils are being discontinued??

the sketchbook is so inspiring! how long do they have to finish a whole sketchbook?
Liz, They do have a long time, fifteen weeks.
Glad to see you back Matt.
I'm in the thick of teaching seven classes. Totally swamped but loving it.
