I like the finished brick background. Much better looking than before.
I backed this mainly because of the theme and the people behind it. And when I got it I was very pleasantly surprised what a good, solid and well thought out gameplay is behind this!
Impatiently waiting for my copy. Expected to have it in winter, now more like spring. At least this way the season I acquire it in will be more thematically appropriate.
I was just suggesting to my brother in law, who just got Photosynthesis, and I just got Herbaceous, that playing Petrichor and those two on a game night would be a neat theme. Cottage Garden, for those who have it, would work, too. I'm sure there are others. Topiary, maybe.
It's nice to have a game that is refreshing, where the theme and mechanisms seem to fit so well. That, and the first time I heard the word Petrichor used, was the Doctor Who episode where the YTardis is a lady.
Ha! Nice to see you managed to drop a "trading in the Mediterranean" reference. :D
Played and backed at UK expo 17. Looking forward to receiving this and getting it to the table. Also just recently acquired Anarchrony which I love although quite different.
It's mostly different because the lead designer on this is David Chircop, I just helped :)
The theme and mechanics fit well
Think Dominant Species-lite. Now to just get my copy.
Looks interesting! How does it play with 2 players?
I played 2 players and it was super-cut-throat but also very exciting. I enjoyed it more than with 4 players (but we didn't use the Flowers expansion).
@tom if you liked this, I believe this was also done by the designer of Anachrony
The lead designer of Petrichor is David Chircop (designer of The Pursuit of Happiness), I just helped :)
Looks like a good game to play on a rainy day...
Syncopator exactly what I thought
That board design makes me anxious. I want to clean it off or throw it away because of water damage.
same :(
Yay!! Now we can manipulate the weather just like in real life.
Whats your verdict on it as a solo game?
Isnt this by the the people who did Spirits of the Rice Paddy ?
Stuart George no, it's from the guy that designed The Pursuit of Happiness
Yes, both are APE Games.
Anarchrony, Days of Ire, Dice Settlers...
For the Girl Who's Tired of Waiting...
for an obscure Doctor Who reference. Not quite sure about this theme, since I usually like a little more excitement than gardening or trading, but this might be weird enough to get away with it.
That voting board looks super gross. I get what they were going for but it just looks like it was actually damaged.
I’ll pass on this one.
