- Hello, viewers! In this tutorial, I demonstrated how to draft a basic short sleeve pattern for a child.
To draft this pattern, just three measurements are needed.
- Chest circumference
- Sleeve length
- Around arm/sleeve measurement.

Thank you so much. This happened to be very close to my grandsons measurements. It would be nice if you would give us an idea of the childs age you are creating the garments for.
I drafted the sleeve for a four year old child.
@@ZERO11KLOTHINGS I used this last night and it fit perfectly. Thank you again. I watched over 15 videos and yours was 1. very close to my grandsons measurements and 2. I was able to understand what you are saying because you used simple terms. I am not a subbie and I look forward to learning more from you.

You can use this ☝️☝️for the adult sleeve.
I want 2 know in your sleeve pattern did you already add seam allowince thanks
Plz Make a long straight sleeve pattern for a 4yrs
Can you add the formulas in the description. We will put the corresponding measurements and apply it. I am going to stitch it for my 3 year old daughter
Ok will do
Thank you so much for the video it really helps.
But I have few questions to ask.
1. The formulae you used, is it still the same formular am going to use to get a pattern sleeve for any size of baby.
2. If i do not have the wheel you use to get the pattern show on the other side of the paper is there any other alternative.
Yes, the formula is applicable for any baby size - just insert the corresponding measurements.
If you don’t have a tracing wheel, just cut out the sleeve as it is after drawing the initial sleeve head, open up the sleeve (remember that I placed the pattern paper on fold).
Then, adjust it just like I did in the video - to differentiate the front from the back of the sleeve. THE SLEEVE ALSO WORKS AS IT IS WITHOUT ANY ADJUSTMENTS.
Hi. Can you explain the third measurement again. You did it so fast I can’t understand the measurements. Thank you!!😊
Do you mean the around sleeve measurement?
If yes, simply measure around that point where the sleeve ends. If it's an elbow length sleeve, measure around the elbow, if it around the mid- upper arm, measure around this point.
Very helpful, pls I didn't get the sleeve formula again, if u can write out the formulas u used, wud be helpful. Thanks
Cap height- chest circumference divided by 12 plus 0.5 inch.
Armhole - chest circumference divided by 4.
Please does the cap height formula also work for babies newborn up to a year old?
Yes, it should.
Is there seam allowince
No. There's no seam allowance. You will have to add it when cutting it out on your fabric.
Okay thanks
How much seam allowance on all sides half a cm?
Nice tutorial what is the length of a full sleeve for a 5year old girl plz
Even though there are standard children measurement charts, it’s advisable that you measure this directly on the child.
Especially if you’re making a bespoke outfit.
Thanks
