Great tips. They will help out a lot this yr
Hey Mike - Thanks so much for these videos- nothing but awesome. Question on rear axle bend - if the car is still truning the desired amount and speed is good - should that matter? Many Thanks
I'm glad you like the videos! I guess if it's running well, there is no need to make changes.
What do you think is the optimal bend in a front axle I have had to add quite a little bit of bend to make my car level and wondering when that hurts
I use more bend than most other league racers. I like keeping the front wheel on its edge and a smaller portion making contact with the rail. My cars have about a 10 degree bend. But I had to have a special drill jig created lowering the rear drill to make it happen. Have you checked out my alignment video?
@@mikemcguire2550 yes I've watched it about four times you are definitely doing the best professional talks out there right now but if 10° is working for you that's fine with me I'm running about 8 now and I thought that was too much thank you so much for getting back to me I really really appreciate it
@@tateabdon1 Thank you for the compliment. Previously I forgot to mention, before I had my special made drill jig, I would shim .030" when drilling my rears to lower the drill. It helped keep my alignment right.
What's the car bouncing off of? Great video!
Ideally you don’t want the car wiggling but if it does, it will be bouncing off the rail.
@mikemcguire2550 No, I mean, what is the car in the video bouncing off from when it reaches the end of the board?
I’ve added foam rubber to the bottom of my tuning board.
We are required to leave the tread bumps. Would you still lean the steer wheel onto the outside edge or would you lean it onto the inside edge?
If you are building a car that rides the rail you will have to keep the front wheel riding on the outer edge.
