This was such a hit show and those were different times .... now ppl get offended by anything and half of the jokes will offend someone for sure .... ppl were so open minded with a great sense of humour at that time.

This is very hard for me to admitt but I was a terrible racist until I watched this show I had the area I love is very racist and I had been taught that was the way to be by all my family . After watching this show I realised that we are "all the same " and it had me laughing so much after that I started opening my mind to other serious documentary on you tube about been a Muslim and other religions and am 99 .9 percent sure that I want to become a Muslim tried telling my family last week (it's 3rd time I've tried to approach the subject) my grown up son said he would disown me my grown up daughter brought up how racist I was when she was a child and because she lives at the other end of country and didn't know I have been considering it for the last 4 years laughed at me and thought I was joking my mum said that somebody on Facebook must have been trying to radicalise me cus she's seen all about it in newspapers. Considering I've been a heroin addict for 30 years and have given up drinking having sex eating meat completely because where I live has literally no where to buy the right meat .there isn't even a mosque nearby and the nearest one is 8 miles away in a terraced house other wise it's a 35 mile round trip to my nearest city. Just trying to wean off the methdone because that's the only thing that I think is still stopping me from ever taking this any further. Don't know why but it just came to me one day after I had been really poorly with Covid for 4 months and almost died . It just suddenly made sense and just felt right .really wierd because I have never felt like that when I've been in church's (though brought up Christian ) . Anyway hope that I am not been racist liking this show like some of the comments suggest cus the last thing I would want to do is offend anybody. Just so confused and don't know what to do
If you want to become a Muslim you can contact an organisation called IERA and EFDawah they will support you.the declaration of faith is “I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah (Arabic for One God) and I bear witness that Prophet Muhammad is the final messenger.” You also can add Nabi Issa (Arabic for Jesus) was a prophet of God. You can get a copy of the Holy Quran in english translation. This programme is funny!

A brilliant comedy series, much under-rated. Adil Ray is superb, and the test of the actors are excellent too. Wonderful entertainment, such a shame it was shelved because some people didn't understand the humour. I absolutely love it! Thanks to BBC for making it accessible.
