How to Remove the Saddle Nut on your Daytona Jacks

- Hello once again friends, I have been getting some comments about people having problems removing the saddle nut on their Daytona Jacks so they can install the Daytona Crossbeam attachment. I think the issue is an aluminum nut screwed into a steal housing. There always seems to be some sort of reaction when steel and aluminum are mated together.
Thanks Bro.! 😎
glad it was helpfui
How do I order a connection bolt?
Harbor Freight has an excellent part department. You can order parts for most everything they sell. The phone number is: 1-800-444-3353
What is the size of the saddle screw?
It is M24 x1.5
Thank you very much 👍
What is the diameter of that jack saddle seat hole?
It accepts a M24x1.5 bolt the size is .945'' just under one inch in diameter
Would you recommend a second jack for the cross member/beam attachment or do you take it off and put it on whenever you need it?
I actually have 4 Daytona jacks. 2 have cross members. I like the idea of having 2 jacks. Sometimes if a car sits too low the cross member jack won't quite fit under. You can use the extra jack to lift the car an inch or two to fet the cross member under. Thanks for the question.
Thank you for the video.! Very informative and I got it the first try.
I am very sorry I have taken so long to reply. Thanks for the compliment. I am glad you found my channel and enjoyed the video. I hope it was helpful. By all means don't be a stranger.
Spent 5 min hammering! Thank you.
I couldn't pretend to be genius without youtube.
I wish you tube was around back in the 70s when i started out as a young mechanic. Thanks for watching
Thanks UA-cam dad! This was very helpful.
First time being called that. The best one was being called a fat f**k. My reply was yes fat I am, f**k I can't do that anymore.
Excellent
Glad the video was helpful. Thanks
Do you know if a larger saddle is available for this jack? I had a 1970’s Sears 2.5 ton, the saddle wasn’t bolted in. When the Sears quit I got the Daytona. The Daytona is really, really sturdy.
@@Seat1AJoe To my knowledge they do not. However, the do have a crossmember attachment that is available and very useful. That is the reason for removing the saddle. Here is a link to an unboxing video I posted a few years ago. ua-cam.com/video/52PAfjWkqm0/v-deo.html
Thanks for the video. Fyi... the washer you point out is actually a spacer and it isn't to be used on certain Daytona jacks per the instructions.
Thanks BBrestoMod; I stand corrected, I will forever more refer to it as a spacer. In the case of my particular jacks it is required. Thanks for watching my channel.
Thanks for the video. I just bought the daytona cross beam, and was wondering how to access the nut on the jack - I was not aware all you had to do was pry off the rubber pad! 😬
Thanks, I am glad you found my channel and found the video helpful. By the way harbor freight parts department sells those replacement pads.
Good to know - I did not know that Harbor Freight had a "Parts Department". When I looked up Daytona Jack "Saddle relacement pad" on their website, it refers you to a phone number to call for replacement parts.
I can’t believe it, IT WORKS
Thank you for sharing

@@richardspaulding5035 No problem
Great video Rick thanks for sharing
Thanks; I love these Daytona Jacks. I miss not having a lift anymore, but having 4 of these jacks is a big help. In 45 years these are the best I have used. I like them better than my old Hien Werner Jacks and that is saying a lot.
Mine has a T55 Torx not allen. I couldn't remove it with an impact wrench.
My jacks are about 4 years old now. you must have a newer model. My nut would not come off with an impact wrench as well, however I was able to get it off as shown in the video. You may need to get a T55 impact socket and try it with a breaker bar and a pipe as in the video.
@@richardspaulding5035 That's exactly what I did yesterday. And it came loose. The jack had a torx and the crossbar had an allen.
@@newworldodor2641 Great, thanks for getting back to me
Thank you that was helpful
