As a non Liverpool fan and that Dalglish curler was so special. Kenny Dalglish is a great player in this country. It's no wonder he won so much success at Liverpool when he joined them from Celtic forty-two years ago.
@@grantpage2138for the last ten years plus football has become a non contact sport no excitement whatsoever, the football back then and right through the 80s was absolutely brilliant and the atmosphere in the grounds was deafening.
There is a story behind this game. Bob Paisley who wasn't the best at giving team talks instead pulled players to one side and whispered in their ear. Before kick-off of this game, he did just that. He pulled Kenny to one side and said 'watch that Chelsea keeper, he comes off his line'. Kenny took it on board and chipped him.
"Langley, in fact, is Chelsea's leading scorer this season, with two goals...which, is a fair illustration of the problems they're suffering." Haha golden commentary.
Been watching lots of old Liverpool clips now during the last two months and what strikes me is that much of the Liverpool style today is in many ways like what it was under Paisley. Biggest difference is generally better defense play from the opponents now, and the way players score. That will always be individual. Enjoyable all the same.
Nothing more plastic than supporting the best team in Scotland then having the cheek to choose a team 2nd team with no connections to Liverpool what so ever purely based on glory, gloryhunter from a mile away you lad
@@rybolfc What a shit comment. I know lots of die hard Liverpool fans who have a soft sport for a team outside of their country. Nothing wrong with it whatsoever.

@@rybolfc Yeah, i get what you`re saying and i see glory hunters supporting Man city now, but were nowhere to be seen when they were up and down the divisions. I still think it`s ok if die hard fans (fans who love their club with a passion) look out for another teams result on match day. They can have many reasons for doing so. Liverpool and Borussia Monchengladbach for example have a nice friendship. It happens and i think that`s fair enough.
Not in this season though. The one you are referring to was 1978-79. The Liverpool team of 1977-78 conceded a lot of goals. By the next season a lot of lessons had been learned. You are right to highlight the defensive record, many people think it is just about scoring the most goals but if you can limit the amount you concede to just 16 then you will deservedly win the league.
Just think what this team would have done too Watford, Chelsea and ath Madrid, crap pitch’s , one sub , we had proper quality players who had skill and composure. There is no way we would have lost our unbeaten run and knocked out of all the cups with this team

Dalglish: what player. Thanks for the video:this is the real English football
Shame in those days all the games weren't filmed like today, i talk to people who saw Dalglish live every week who say he was awesome.

That the Chelsea team kept Liverpool down to two at Liverpool's place was a victory of sorts.
