This is such a beautiful piece. Bolet is so masterful here. Such grand romantic playing and I love the tempo chosen. You can hear every note. Bolet and Leinsdorf are perfect together. I love this recording! Could easily be my go-to recording from now on.
Superb performance by Jorge Bolet here. I'm at a bit of a loss to know why some brilliant, though young pianists today, play parts of this piece way too fast. These delightful tunes are there to savour and enfuse the listener with special memories. Perhaps some of the more experienced conductors should have a private word with these pianists ?

So true. Bolet himself said "nothing can ruin beautiful piano music more than excessive speed". The older I get I now enjoy more moderate tempi.
I enjoyed this magnificent concerto when I listen for years performed by any conductors ....
