Hiking Scout Mountain | Pocatello Idaho Hikes

Scout Mountain is a great hike to do in the late spring. Since the summit is over 8,600 feet there can be a few snow patches until summer. The rain made a few sections pretty slick, but nothing too bad. On a non raining day there will probably be ATVs on the trail. There are several approaches to Scout Mountain. I started on the East Fork Mink Trail by the Scout Mountain Campgrounds.

Elevation Gain: 2,051 feet

I used to have to run to the top of that mountain each fall. It's a tough climb

We were actually just up there today. Looks like this was probably recorded in the spring? (Looks a bit greener throughout the valley in your video than it is currently.) Still bountiful area. Kind of wish there were more areas like this in the area.

Yeah, this was the very beginning of June and it had been raining, so lots of green. I agree, more areas like this would be nice. It's a cool area.🙂
