So from what I'm gathering watching y'all is knitters mainly knit clothes and crocheters kind of make a variety of items between clothes, house stuff, accessories...etc. I love the baby sweater!
Hi ladies!!! I'm Sunny from Sunny Side Up Crafts, thank you SO much for sharing my handspun yarn and website on your blog, a bunch of people ordered because of this video 😊I am so happy you like your yarn!!! Thank you for the beautiful shoutout, you ladies made my day!!
Love all the updates on movies, yarn and knit alongs. You ladies are like the Good Morning America show of yarn. You probably don't know what that is, but it's the morning entertainment news we watch in Colorado! I hope I can find that Canadian yarn!!
The drive from Montreal to Rhinebeck will be magnificent...as you travel south hopefully the leaves will still be changing and its gorgeous! Also, look to have lunch between Rhinebeck and Kingston at Bread Alone...a fabulous lunch. See you then!
I've been to Shetland twice and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the islands. The scenery is beautiful and the people are incredible. And then there is the knitting and the wool. Don't get me started....LOL
Thank you. Been following since the beginning. I have gone through some big life events. My knitting and your delightful podcast has saved my soul. I am so grateful. Stay safe and bring all the yarn.
I puree basil and put it into a jar and make sure I add enough of a good olive oil to cover and then it is easy to use and keeps for a long time. If you get a big tomato harvest you can freeze them and make sauce in the winter. The skins slip right off when they thaw.
Ok Tracie the enabler. I visited the Topsy Farms site and I have the following items coming: 2 wool pillows, a sheepskin, a children's book and a sweater quantity of yarn. Hurray for the Canadian Dollar!
Jodi! So hilarious, my four year old was with me at a yarn store on a road trip. she picked out TWO ball of that same hot pink sparkle yarn. Literally the same! I was like what in the world am I going to make with this? so it was fun to see you excited about it and see the cool things you are making.
I am a recent subscriber and decided to go back to some of your older episodes to catch up a little. I love your relationship. My sister and I paper craft together and then we each have other crafts. She does not knit but she is very knit worthy so I have knit for her. You two have a great relationship and I love that your podcasts are nice and long as I actually get some knitting done while I each/listen to your episodes. Jodi- I love your yarn colors and am going to need some MCN for Christmas house socks. Thank you for all the yarn and pattern info that I have gotten from your episodes. Not sure I can afford the damage I want to do but who knows...
Jodi, your slipcover looks so cozy! I never knit PetiteKnit patterns since they seem so plain, but I love how you've zhuzhed it up with your beautiful hand-dyed yarn! And that underarm detail seems inspired.
Drive from Montreal to Rhinebeck will be gorgeous and it is just straight down the NY Thruway...probably 4 hours? It is a nice drive. Montreal is 6 hours from NYC and usually takes a bit more than 2 to get from NYC to Rhinebeck...
Absolutely go to Shetland. My sister and I went on a tour with Shetland Wool Adventures and it was fantastic. Misa, the woman who organizes the tour, has not yet opened back up due to Covid but possibly by next summer? We went in August and it was a bit nippy! From what I heard I would avoid Shetland Wool Week. Crazy town.
I’ve had a bit of a break from the knitting community due to a big and arduous overseas move. So nice to be back and see and listen to you. It is so relaxing and fun. So sad to hear about Georgia’s migraines. I have suffered from migraines my whole life and unfortunately they got worse after giving birth. I have tried all treatments and medications available but nothing really works as a preventative. I really hope botox will work for Georgia. 💙
Love, love, love the sparkly black and gold sweaters you ladies are knitting! Also, how many project bags/totes do you have and more importantly, how do you store them?
Tracie, your flower baskets are so great! Mine look like dried up fall leaves that have been trampled on. Been so hot here we’d have to water 3x per day.
Love cables! Also, good lighting for black and dark navy is essential. From experience - I did a dark navy cable sweater for Grocery Girls Countdown to Sweater on Ravelry.
Love the little baby sweater and cap! I knit a precious set for my first grandson with little intarsia sheep with HANDwash instructions attached.Well a family member who was "helping"washed and dried it in machines. 😱So you know how that turned out with merino cashmere silk non super wash 😭.He never even got to wear it.
At this point, I just tell my family members, "Do Not Wash this, when it needs to be washed, let me know and I'll do it for you" hahha and i have a no more non-superwash for babies rule (except for my own) unless it has a high nylon content (15-20%) because that will be okay on a gentle cold cycle.
Needles at the ready mentioned Arcand yarns a couple of weeks ago. I am loving this yarn. Gorgeous colours. You ladies rock!! Hope to see you in Vancouver, even when I live so close to you. Greetings from Edmonton 😁😂
I love the beloved bonnet too, it's fun to knit and so adorable for photos but not the best in cold weather. My little ones had warm ears but cold necks and foreheads. I tried knitting quite a few different styles of baby hat and my favourite by far was the Baccalao hat from Strikkezilla 🥰
I am leaving for Scotland in 2 days!!! Have tickets for the Perth fiber festival cannot wait!!! Original trip was planned Aug 2020 so it’s been a long time coming oh and Jody I have Xanax for the plane😁😁
I am suddenly very tempted to add sparkle to a sweater, like to the mohair sections of Joji's lace and fade boxy. Or to the Jessie Maed sheer v sweater.
Jodi… love your slipover, so cozy looking. Those armholes are awesome! Sniff sniff… you need some No Pong 🤣🤣🤣 I thought you used Tracie’s Flip Flop yarn from Nice and Knit. 🤣 Did you ever make anything with that yarn Tracie. Me neither. 🤭 Started making a sweater, got 3/4 through it and realized it was going to be way too hot with the mohair, it was so heavy. So, it sits… I’ll probably make something with it minus the mohair. I love it!
YT is giving me errors so if this is a duplicate, I apologize. According to their show notes on Ravelry, it's the Orange Love Poncho by Gaye Glasspie. I can't link here on YT but if you search for that name, you'll find it. If you don't have Ravelry, you can still find it by searching on Google. I can't even post a screenshot of Jodi's project page but on it, she wrote: Needle: US 8 - 5.0 mm. Yarn: Plucky. Colorway: Twill. Yarn: Plucky. Weight: Worsted (9 wpi). Colorway: Henley. Yarn: Plucky. Weight: Worsted. Colorway: Princess phone. Yarn: Plucky Knitter. Weight: Worsted. Colorway: Duck egg. Notes: So fun to knit! I eliminated the cables and bobbles and knit straight stockinette stitch. I used 4 skeins and had little left. Had fun with colors and stripes!
Tracie have you tried sliced onion and cucumbers in a rice vinegar solution? I remember it being a summer time favorite growing up. 4 cukes peeled and sliced 1 onion sliced 1 cup water 1 cup apple cider or rice vinegar 1 T oil Celery seeds to taste Water and sugar cook until sugar is dissolved (I chose to nuke it). Let cool, then add vinegar, oil and celery seeds. You can add salt n pepper to taste. Chill overnight. I love putting them on a bread and butter sandwich.
I have a question - I bought yarn that is a blend of cotton, bamboo & linen - is there anything I need to know how this yarn will act? It seems like I heard linen &/ bamboo stretches - is that true? The yarn is from Lion Brand. Thank you!
Do you watch Penrose Knits/The Knitting Pickle? She has released a couple of sweaters in children's sizes. If the baby is a little girl her Petite Souffle is adorable.
Outta range is excellent, you really have to think and it’s hard to work out the answer ... what’s going on 😆. I hate watching shows where the ending is obvious. 😄
Ladies, I heard you talking about poor sleep, migraines and cancer. Have you ever watched the "The Earthing Movie" on UA-cam. You'll thank yourself if you do. I love the podcast! Nina
Hey you guys… great show as always. Do you make zucchini relish? My sister turned me onto it way way back in the 70s but she never gave me the recipe. Sadly she passed away in early 90s and I’ve settled on Willies relish but lately can’t find it. As grocery girls, do you know of a label for zucchini relish. Or, hopefully, do you have a recipe you’re willing to share? I know this is not knitting, but hey… sharing is fun 💓
Do you know how hard it is to watch you guys while on the elliptical? The fork elbow comment had me laughing out loud like a total Crazy lady! Try Turning Ground Yoga for Knitters. I’ve got loads of videos that help with hand, wrist, shoulder AND elbow issues. Also love that the only two thing you can’t do are laundry and dishes. Hahaha. I’m going to try that next time my elbow acts up and see if it works.
Jodi… I sent a screenshot to grocery girls shop email from Camilla Valley Farm which is in Ontario, near me. They sell Shetland yarns, including DK and Aran weight and Heathered colours. Plus, they have those shade cards. Check them out! And… free shipping in Canada and US.
Love the podcast and all the yarn!!! Thanks for highlighting the Pluma Rosa pattern. Didn’t know about it and it’s beautiful! By the way, I’ve had migraines for all my 57 years and this summer I’ve upped my water intake tenfold and I have had way less headaches. Worth trying.
I just saw an easy one on Facebook. If you have a jar of store pickles you can add fresh cukes when you use them up. I haven't tried it but my sister has said they were yummy
Did you get the prime minister to cancel all of the Wednesday morning chaos in your neighborhood? Being such UA-cam stars… That airplane must have been from the US. I just checked and stomach cancer better hide, Meghan’s whooping **s! Love your TikTok! Please keep doing it.
So from what I'm gathering watching y'all is knitters mainly knit clothes and crocheters kind of make a variety of items between clothes, house stuff, accessories...etc. I love the baby sweater!
Love, light, peace and joy to you all. ❤️🌞✌️🥲
oooooh your sparkly sweaters are SO GOOD!!! And I need that Black Cherry mohair! sooooo stunning!! held double w/ black/rainbow sequins! 🤩
love the sparkle to the black and gold sweaters

Love Arcane Fibreworks; knitting a sweater with his yarn right now; it's so SOFT; no shipping charges!
I puree basil and put it into a jar and make sure I add enough of a good olive oil to cover and then it is easy to use and keeps for a long time. If you get a big tomato harvest you can freeze them and make sauce in the winter. The skins slip right off when they thaw.
Arcane Fiber works has beautiful yarn! The colors are amazing.
I use a rotating yarn holder to hold my commercial yarn! Stops it from running away all round the house! x
LOVE the sparkle sweaters!! You two will look fabulous!
Funny you mentioned Port Huron. I have relatives that live in Port Huron. There was also a Mary Maxim outlet.
arcane fibreworks are so amazingly beautiful!
I'm in the US and I LOVE Biscotte yarns!!! Their Bis-sock is so soft, I love it! Never tried their other yarns though
Ok Tracie the enabler. I visited the Topsy Farms site and I have the following items coming: 2 wool pillows, a sheepskin, a children's book and a sweater quantity of yarn. Hurray for the Canadian Dollar!

You guys are so nice & kind ! I love watching you!
Make pesto with the basil. I substitute pecans for the pine nuts. Then I cover with olive oil and freeze in jam jars.
I love pine nuts but when I'm out, I use pistachios! Yum! Plus extra green and pretty.
I make a jalapeño pesto with macadamia nuts and it is always delicious!
Only small planes fly to Shetland…the overnight ferry is 12 hours from Aberdeen!
You two just make me happy. Glad you keep it up after all these years (that’s what she said)
I knit Joji’s Jodi shawl in Walk Yarn. My all-time favorite.
Perfect Blend Yarn Shop is fantastic! The shop owners are so nice!
I love your podcast, ❤
Jodi, your slipcover looks so cozy! I never knit PetiteKnit patterns since they seem so plain, but I love how you've zhuzhed it up with your beautiful hand-dyed yarn! And that underarm detail seems inspired.
Ted Lasso is only available on Apple TV so I subscribed, but I don’t have a smart enough tv 🤪 so I watch it on my iPad… so worth it. I LOVE it!
Love you Ladies from western Washington State
Love love love Ted Lasso! It gets better and better as you go.
Drive from Montreal to Rhinebeck will be gorgeous and it is just straight down the NY Thruway...probably 4 hours? It is a nice drive. Montreal is 6 hours from NYC and usually takes a bit more than 2 to get from NYC to Rhinebeck...
The Silo is a great place for breakfast. It’s right off I-87 at the Queensbury exit.

Love, love, love the sparkly black and gold sweaters you ladies are knitting! Also, how many project bags/totes do you have and more importantly, how do you store them?
I’m going to Rhinebeck this year and I’m so excited you are going too! My mom has driven from Kingston Ontario and it took about 5-6 hours.
Jessica Mc Donald has a baby tunic that is just what you are looking for. I knit one in the spring.
What kind of fertilizer do you add to flowers behind you and vegetables.
Tracie, your flower baskets are so great! Mine look like dried up fall leaves that have been trampled on. Been so hot here we’d have to water 3x per day.
I kept my sparkles in a zip lock bag with just a little opening. Perfect!
🤣🤣🤣 I will watch Jodi’s underarm sniff part again and again! 😂😂😂
Love cables! Also, good lighting for black and dark navy is essential. From experience - I did a dark navy cable sweater for Grocery Girls Countdown to Sweater on Ravelry.

Oh no! The fact that he never even got to wear it is heartbreaking!! It sounds like it was a charming set.
@@hollyschackmann6594 oh I learned my lesson....no more precious yarn for baby knitting, just acrylic or super wash from now on😉
@@sparrowhill6373 it was heartbreaking but looks really cute on a teddy bear.😔

I binged watch Longmire and Virgin River this summer on Netflix. So good. I hated when I finished. I wanted more.
If you go during Shetland Wool Week you won't see puffins. They will have left before then.
I am suddenly very tempted to add sparkle to a sweater, like to the mohair sections of Joji's lace and fade boxy. Or to the Jessie Maed sheer v sweater.
Good Morning from Adelaide, South Australia,

The shawl that is on podcast 150 where can I get the pattern, those colors look so good on you.

Fall is tooooo fleeting. My Fall begins Sept. 1st!!! 😉❤️🍁
Tracie have you tried sliced onion and cucumbers in a rice vinegar solution? I remember it being a summer time favorite growing up.
4 cukes peeled and sliced
1 onion sliced

Celery seeds to taste

Amazing race had not started I the states yet!
Oregon, here!
That August is SOOOO pretty
Jodi should try and dye up some of those Topsy skeins. That would be gorgeous 😍

Can the Lola bean yarn the two color ones still be purchased? The YAK ones?
I am not sure about that! I do know that Black Beaver is a Magpie Market exclusive colour. Maybe check with them?
