Compared to Ash's Pikachu, who started off as an inexperienced battler (albeit one with lots of potential) before growing stronger together with his trainer, Captain Pikachu starts its series already a capable battler under the command of a prominent Pokemon Professor (Friede). Also, while Ash's Pikachu was more of a Long-Range Fighter using Thunderbolt and Electroweb, Captain Pikachu is more of a Close-Range Combatant using Thunder Punch and Volt Tackle.

I'd say Ash's Pikachu is kind of a mixed fighter since half his moveset is for long distance and half is for close quarters
Those distance moves may give Ash the upper hand
@@treman1 yeah but there's only so much good that long distance fighting can do. Sometimes U have to be able to battle at close quarters
Think if ash pikachu long distance moves are electric moves and capt has lightning rod then ash pikachu only moves that will probably be useful is electro web because of it can maybe trap capt and then use quick attack for soeed and iron tail is no comment
Personally, the difference between Ash's and Cap is that their "strenght and power" are displayed in very unique ways.
Ash's strenght is relative, it increases and adjusts itself to the level of the opponent he's facing. Cap's however is absolute.
Cap is more consistent and streamlined, to a stagnating default. He won't get better because the plot doesn't demand it.
Cap's backstory and demeanor is more alligned to an Adventures manga Pokémon then a standard anime Pokémon.

@@treman1 also cap have more experience battling without trainer than ash pikachu, i hate to say this but remember the first episode of DP where ash pikachu running away from team Rocket pokemon while he can just blast them away? Meanwhile cap can do battling without friede on his side, maybe because he have more time as wild pikachu than ash pikachu since we know that he is more older
I don't think Captain Pikachu will ever be strong enough to be stronger than Ash's Pikachu. He would give him a lot of trouble, don't get me wrong. But Ash's Pikachu is training every day although Friede is training very often too. Friede has other things to worry about. Another reason is because of his competition, the Explorers are not even close in strength with the champions and elite four members that Ash has to beat

Captain Pikachu's known moves are Thunder Punch, Double Team, and Volt Tackle, but what is its 4th/final move? I hope it'll be Tera Blast or at least Fly because I wanna see Friede Terastallize him into a Flying type.
And considering Cap can actually fly, giving him fly is perfect

I wish Friede could have a Z-Ring and a Pikanium Z since his Pikachu knows Volt Tackle. It would be so cool if Captain Pikachu could perform the special Z-Move Catastropika.
If they go to Alola and don't get those, it's a big missed opportunity

I'm just here to say I don't give a damn how strong cap is. He's just cool as heck, like a Daddy Pikachu. Man that Pokemon's not even cute. He's a PokeMAN among PokeMONs.
I hope one day for Ash and Friede battling with their respective Pikachus. I don't care who wins, it'll be the biggest fan-service in Pokemon to date.

Ash's Pikachu and Cap make me glad to be a Pikachu Trainer, and I have won, The Title of Pikachu Master.
Ash's Pikachu should battle Friede's Pikachu and see who wins. I can already tell Ash's Pikachu winning with less struggle. Ash had fought stronger and harder opponents than Captain Pikachu before so its an easy battle.
Wild take but captain pikachu is cooler then ashes pikachu 70% of the time cuz ashes pikachu isn’t always serious

Cap is so freaking cool in Horizons
ash pikachu is stronger because looking at not only the move they was show to have but how they battle as well. as pickachu was show to had an attack all kind of pokemon he battle against his own evolution line before. volt tackle he dig in with iron tail so he won't take much damage he more speed and long distance forces had way to avoid a tried out the options. cap-pikachu is a get close to attach type all his attack would use up his energy making him try to eat up the distance ash-pick could keep him. in summary ash Pikachu will win because he either tired out cap pikachu or outlast him and has more move to to better fight cap with

Honestly, Cap's moveset is the only negative point I'd make. Thunder Punch, Thunder Bolt, Volt Tackle and Double Team. I feel like it's Sloppy for Friede to Triple Down on Electric moves. Imo, the Dream moveset at some point in the future would have to be: Volt Tackle, Double Team, Fly, and Surf.
Friede is this experienced, confident, and smart Trainer, and Pikachu has proven its Power and as a Team they have proven their strategic style.. but now, Pikachu needs that Diversity in its moves. With the right moves, Captain Pikachu can overcome Ash's Pikachu in battle, but right now, in my opinion, Ash Pikachu would defeat Friede and Captain Pikachu in a 1 on 1 battle! Don't forget, Ash's Pikachu knows how to ground itself to nullify Electric Type Attacks, Like Volt Tackle, and I'm sure it works even better with Thunderbolt, while Iron Tail can counter Thunder Punch, and ElectroWeb can expand to cover all of the Double Team Pikachu's, Trapping the real one, while eliminating the Fakes! Ash's Pikachu Wins!
I doubt Friede would be dumb enough to use Cap against a ground type with his current sort of moveset

Maybe Charizard is helping the crew somewhere else, and so far, at the time of me writing this comment, Charizard and Pikachu are his only known Pokémon. What if Amethio has a Ground Type as a 3rd Pokémon, or he's able to make his Ceruledge Tera into a Ground Type? (I know it's confirmed Ghost, but he could change it at some point...) Bottom line, Captain Pikachu needs diversity, and soon. Given that these enemies are not Team Rocket levels of Dumb.. I mean, they utilize a Self-destruct Glalie, and let's not forget, the newest concern (Known to the viewers, not to Friede)... The Shiny 10% Zygarde, who is in fact, Half Ground Type!

ash and his pikachu are one, they both cannot being seperated, if it happen, ash pikachu will struggled the most time, however if you seperated cap and friede, nothing changed that much, both can handle their own obstacle seperately like when friede handling amethio while cap tried to fight and protect our protagonist while he got his life force absorbed, even ash pikachu will lost just like cap in that place,its to brutal, and suprisingly cap is not friede ace pokemon, other than their ages and battle style, the main different between both cap and ash pikachu is their action personality, cap power is his maturity while ash pikachu power is ash himself, also if you give cap to ash, whenever team rocket tried to steal him, he can escape by himself even without ash command, that their difference at least for me

I think Captain Pikachu is Ash's Pikachu and something terrible happened to Ash. Pikachu wandered around for a while before being found by Friede.

Actually, there is one other explanation we could consider. What if Cap is that clone Pikachu from the 1st movie? Then it would make sense why it's so strong.

Captain is just better in every aspect, Ashes Pikachu is pm just plot armor/device. Cap is just far more competent as well.
Like put them in a room with no trainers and Cap is dog walking Ashes Pikachu.
