I'm old-school at 55 years old. I love the design of the new speaker systems. Portable and powerful. I'm going back to vinyl and just bought 2 18 subwoofers. My equipment is very heavy and bulky. Wish I could afford those new speakers. Most of my money goes to digital keyboards. Times have changed.
Thank you for the inspiration. I have just ordered one white unit. 1. I need the 12 in woofer for the low end 2. I wanted a built-in mixer 3. I love the adjustable pole 4. I like to give sight to the sore eyes. 5. It is still portable and easy to set up.
I use the shure qlx beta 87a wireless mics outdoor never had issues with mic drops you should check it out their expense but you don’t have to worry about the 2.4 cell phone issue since they run on tv channels.
Love this video, you were the only guy to show that you need to disable the jmix8 to use as a speaker, I thought you could use the mixer with the speaker enabled but wasn't getting no sound, and my mixer input light was on, thanks
This is great! I'm in FL and do a lot of beach ceremonies, you are one of the few who I have heard talk about wired Lav. I did my research a while back and I have a sony ECB-88 (i think wired lab). It has been great. Thank you for stating that even 15ft away that wireless mics have cut out. I know exactly that scenario. Cool video and I'll be getting a RCF soon. I've been using QSC k12 for last 5 or so years. Looking for another option. I think this is it!
you can use them for reception or parties just keep it to under 200 ppl .....anything more i would add more speakers ....but for most my bar gigs i do with 150 college kids they work fine and very easy to move in and out and sound great
@@MikeAnthonyPhotography 100% agree. If the venue is smaller and it's 200 or less, these are the speakers to go with. Anything more than that you need more power in the PA's along with bigger subs. That being said though...these lil guys are really impressive and handle a good amount of gigs
The crossover is listed at 220Hz and I just can't get mics to sound good with my JMIX8 / J8 set up (Using a Mackie 1402 mixer). I've run sound at corporate events for years (VRX rig, X32) and this corporate rig I can dial in; it sounds outstanding. I want to love my JMIX8 / J8 set up but struggle getting mics to sound normal as there's way too much coming through the woofer with that high crossover point. (Mics= Shure Axient Digital / ULXD). Not here to complain but ask how everyone feels about these and their sound with mics. Thanks for the video!
Love this! May have to pick one up soon. When you run the wired mic by Shure outdoors how well does it do with wind noise? And are you using it to pick up the officiant as well as the bride and groom? Thanks Nick!
Eric Hochgesang does well as long as you have a pop filter on it, that blocks most of the wind. And yeah I position it in the middle pointing upward to pick everyone up
Hey Nick great vid. Do you usually use that clip on shelf to hold the ipad pro and the mic receiver. Are you still relying on the venue to give you a small sized cocktail table or do you bring your own?
Hi, nice video ! I’m like you, I use djay from algoridym with Spotify, but since the last update Spotify still not be allowed unfortunately. I just wanna know what do you use as a mixing app right now. Thanks
Do you feel like your beta mic picks up bride and groom vows outside also? If so where do you place the mic? On a stand have officiant hold it? I’m using the QLXD with sm head and it does great for officiant or the lav pack does great to but I don’t get much from the bride and groom.
Hello, I am a dj (wedding and parties) and I just bought an RCF evox Jmix 8. I would have liked to have had your opinion and advice on the best solution for connecting to my ddj sz controller. Should you connect directly to one of the inputs of the mixer integrated into the Jmix or normally through the IN input of the subwoofer? Hope you can help me. Thank you. cordially
@@agiprodj thanks. How do I go about connecting the sub up. I take it I go from the link out? Is there anything I have to do in the mixer when connecting sub?
@@Whitty43 the most common configuration If you are using 1 sub would be to come out of your mixer or controller with a right and left XLR into both inputs on the sub. Then pass the audio using the output then sending you audio to your right and left EVOX. If using 2 subs you would feed the audio right and left as normal to the sub first then to the EVOX.. Hope this helps
@@agiprodj thanks for reply but I'm not using external mixer or controller, I am just using the built in mixer on the jmix. I was assuming I would run a single XLR from the link out to the input of sub but wasn't sure? And my question about do I need to do anything in mixer I was meaning do I need to select anything regards to crossover in the mixer? Thanks
I have the Evox 12, but they are to big for most venues. I will probably just get these as a main set up. Limiter probs, I have the Bose l32 and even they are too loud
Hey Carlos, I am still undecided about what to buy. You have a pair of Bose L1 pro32 ? how many guest you can rock with these ? my other question is, do you think in a restaurant with 5O tables you can just bring one Bose L1 Pro 32 to rock the place. Thanks so much for your help
@@EricArbour- I just use one to be honest, it’s fine up to 100 people. It has a short throw, so the dance floor gets blasted but the back of the room doesn’t. My issue with the Bose is there is a massive gap in the low mids, and it has a lot of rear spill, which is really annoying. Also people tend to lean on it thinking it’s solid, the Evox 12s are great but I am determined to keep my set up up small enough to not need a van, so the j8s look neat and would have more than enough power to to blast a party.

Hmmmm, I'm still not convinced on these Column Arrays, I'd have to listen to one in person.
They sound good bro. Ease of setup is a huge plus
I have a pair of Harbinger MLS900 and I'll tell you they are legit. They sound fantastic.

I’m intrigued...
But it’s just for ceremony or cocktail???
Not for the reception party??

luke devlin typically in the back behind the wedding guests.

Great advice on the no wireless mics outside Nick. How do you mic both the couple and the Celebrant who is 180° away, a 2nd mic on a 2nd stand ?
You’re def right about the poles, evolve 50s are a gimmick. No adjusting

Hi, how do you output to video camera and in particular if you have a jmix8 and j8 can you output in stereo? Maurice
Do you use one speaker or two for your ceremonies?
Liftgymratt86 just 1
Would two of these be enough for a reception? I've heard the Evox 8's and they scream so I was just wondering how different the sound is with the J8s.

Can you add an additional sub to this when needing extra bass?
Yes. A popular companion sub is the RCF SUB 705 . Check it out here www.agiprodj.com/rcf-sub-705-as-mkii-15-active-subwoofer.html
