Being a male myself, I currently have three Baby-Gs and two G-Shock minis. I have a custom g-shock mini with a solid 925 silver bezel, buckle, and keeper that has prongset diamonds from Japan. I love them! The only large G-Shocks I don't mind is the 'square' and the relatively new GBD200 with the new modern display (I love this one).

Excellent review. This baby g is ideal for my wife and people that like the F-91W which has never appealed to me. This would be a great one watch for a smaller digital Casio enthusiast. The plastics will be way better, the depth rating is way better and it just looks right.

Thank u so much for the review! I have tried the G-Shock DW5600BCE-1 but didn’t like the fit. I feel the size a little too big and bulky on my small wrist. I’m glad that I found your review video now. Because I have looked everywhere but I couldn’t see anyone else really review the Baby G-Shock of this model.
I have a question for the Baby G-Shock that u reviewed. Where did u buy it? I could not find it available on Casio US official website. I found some available on EBay but not sure if they are authentic or not.

I bought it at a watch dealer in The Netherlands called “Kish”.

Excellent review! I also have a 6.25 inch wrist and chose the 5610 because it’s at that limit for me too. If my wrist was any smaller, I would have gone with the Baby G. 😃

It's a shame that they gave up some of the water resistance rating.
    Why not WR20 but WR10? 😢
but I think it's a very good watch because the weight was drastically reduced.

Case proportions are fantastic but I think the real G-shock is a bit better.

BGD-5000 has 200m WR. JDM though.

100m vs 200m only matters on paper. In daily life you will never notice a difference or a compromise in WR. Its first and foremost a marketing tool for the watch industry playing with your "fear" not having high enough WR and therfore spend (usually) more money, just think about it...

@LV-42617 I rarely need WR. In The Netherlands we can have very bad rainfall. Occasionally a jump in the ocean but not even diving deeper than 2 meters 🤣

Great comparison, as a person with a 17cm wrist (6'2/3") I'd go for the baby G just because I like smaller watches, besides I think 10bar is perfect for office diving haha

Great points. I somehow prefer the regular G Shock but I can see the appeal of the Baby G.

The red frame of the 5610U annoys the hell out of me, i simply can't stand red on watches (blue, green, are my faves but even yellow or orange would be fine). The monochrome look of the Baby-G is much more pleasant and a much better reference to the GW-5000U. For the look alone the baby-G would be my choice, the WR100/200m is irrelevant and only matters on the paper but never in daily life. Same goes for the auto backlight - a feature I never had any use for. I would have been interesting how you judge the alarm level, it is so piss-poor on the 5610U to a point that alarms and the countdown timer become next to useless. Theoretically the baby-G should have a louder, clearer alarm due to the smaller and therefore less reinforced case....

I went with the regular size and returned the Baby G for reading the time easier. I do use the auto EL. Rarely use timers but it’s quite loud on the regular one.

Why not the GW-M5610 with the BGD-5000? I have the MW and the 7: nice set in white. Btw you sound very dutch.
