  • Do you need a smooth pan?
First cook in a rough Cresent Ozark #258. What do I think about grinding pans? I do not believe that you need to grind or sand a pan to make it cook better. In fact, if it is too smooth, it will not hold seasoning. But I am also a firm believer in that you can do whatever you want with your own pans.

Its good that you are debunking myths about smooth pans VS pitted ones. Flag day should be a good day for you.

Cooks well, but you got "sperience" and lots of practice controlling your heat. Somebody without the know how will always blame the pan. That's why you got so many pans Mr. Hawg Wild. I don't consider that pan too rough for cooking, and you sure proved it. Good demo Huey.

On daily users that stay on the stove top I think seasoning is overrated. An absolute must for long term storage and protection from rust however.

With that amount of fat, I think you might have been deep frying, that's why it wasn't sticking ;)
