Well, I don't know, but it appears that you've skipped right over some vital piece of information. I have a drum rack loaded up in Ableton, which I can play from my launchpad pro while in 'Note' mode. But, when I switch to the squencer, I see the 32-step sequence on top and the 16-pads on the bottom left, but when I tap on the drum pads, no information is sent to Ableton, so I don't hear anything. I can load up the sequencer with beats and when I press play on the launch pad, I can see it go through the sequence and it shows which pads are playing when, but nothing is sent to Ableton. Unless, I press 'Print to Clip', in which case a clip is sent to Ableton, which is correct and plays correctly in Ableton. But, it won't play (ie. send midi info to Ableton) from the Sequencer. I have no idea what is wrong.
Alright. I figured it out. The sequencer is using a different midi channel than the notes modes. In Ableton, because I have a keyboard connected too, I selected the right launchpad device for the drum rack, but it was the wrong device when using the sequencer.
Tbh its ok for using with hardware, but as integration with ableton goes, its a piece of shit. If you compare it with a dedicated sequencer like a beatstep pro, is also a piece of shit. So basically is a gimmick.
Thanks, that was what I was looking for, a quick demo and a quick but useful explanation.
cool
