Hosted by Barry Cryer and featuring many comedians of the day over the years including Ted Ray, Warren Mitchell, Arthur Askey and the legendary Les Dawson!
NB: A small number of jokes used in the series would be considered offensive today

Perhaps, but a ropey format and execution in this early stage. And the woman sitting next to Barry makes herself look ridiculous.
May be bit ropey but got to be better than today'rubbish .Most of those have sadly passed away but what a fantastic regacy that they have left all I can say thank goodness for You Tube and the people who are good enough to post content so can only say more please if you are able.thumbs up❤❤❤❤

I used to love this show but I can only ever remember Barry Cryer with white hair.
Emmerdale, Countdown, Heartbeat, Calendar, Joker's Wild, *all YTV.*
As were Winner Takes All, 3-2-1, The Book Tower, Sez Les & Only When I Laugh.
Les Dawson head and shoulders funnier than all the rest combined.
Crikey , had forgotten about this , be 9 or 10 and remember not getting any of the jokes , funny how the theme tune comes back to you ,even though it was 50 years ago i last heard it
Loved this show when it was on. Can't be certain, but I think I saw a very young Billy Connolly on an epsode in the early 70's.
Billy was a folk singer till he was about 30, so it wasn't him.

The version I remember seeing had two teams, with Ted Ray, Ray Martine and A N Other and the other team comprising Arthur Askey, Les Dawson and A N Other - the A N Other was different - regular A N Others included Clement Freud and Jack Douglas, often appearing in his Alfred Ippititimus persona!
Can’t recall ever seeing comediennes on the show - or even actresses who do comedy roles - but I have seen a clip featuring Sid James (billed as Sidney James) and one featuring Michael Aspel!
Today, you would find people like John Bishop and Milton Jones and Rhod Gilbert on there, if it was revived!
Ted Rogers also appeared on this years before he hosted 3-2-1.

.Hi there .. I agree ...This must be from the U.K. .. I am not familiar with any of these people .. and the only female on stage acts like a bimbo.. I'm guessing she was instructed to play like a bimbo.. for added comedy relief..It's much needed with this bunch ..Where is she today in 2023 ?.. I didn't fully hear her last name .. A pretty lady .. probably an aspiring beginner actress , just learning as she goes along ..There is some awkward fumbling around with the necklace .. She was nervous perhaps..She did her best with her limited role..After all , One can only be as good as the scripted material that is presented to the actor...and that falls on the writers ..🥹🫢🫣☺️🍀🍀🍀🍀🌷💐

However it was around the time in 1969 that Jack Barry was developing the pilot for the US Joker's Wild that would finally premiere on CBS on September 4, 1972, the same day The Price is Right debut with the late Bob Barker and Gambit (not the X-Man character) with Wink Martindale.
They nearly all were smoking. Those were the days...

I am mining yt for funny and have never seen this before. Proof that all we want to do is sit around and laugh. Most funny found to date apart from classic Dodd, Wisdom, Steve Martin/Short there's Flula funny. Best female funny for me Gracie Allen. In terms of archeological value there are lots of bones in funny.

For the benefit of idiots who think this was an all-male show, let me point out that women comedians did feature on the show. They included Diana Dors and the lovely Aimi McDonald.

Lots of smoking drifting all over the place, what's more odd is the female sat next to Cryer, seems to serve no purpose other than to grin and smile..
I'm guessing they got of that nonsense fairly quickly..
Barry Cryer was a great singer as well as a comedian, writer etc

Question : What is the purpose of all this banter / chatter? ..I don't see any contestant competing for anything .. No contestants answering questions , playing for prizes, etcetera .. It seems pointless to me ..🙄🥱💤..just my humble opinion..
