“Home Alone 4” & “Home Alone 5” are actually the worst “Home Alone” movies in the franchise since they proved worse than “Home Alone 3”. I found that “Home Sweet Home Alone” was kind of an improvement over 4 & 5, but still could’ve improved over the 1st 3 films in the “Home Alone” franchise.

To be honest, every time i see the parts where Harry and Marv fall for Kevin's traps it always makes me think that if anyone in real life died in any of those ways they probably would've ended up in the show "1000 Ways To Die."

If adult Kevin was in the military, he could have defeated several enemies, ie terrorists using the same traps that he used against harry and marv, specially if the climatic battle involves the terrorists attacking and attempting to take over the camp where Kevin is stationed
Exactly most of those traps in all those movies are lethal enough to kill you but would be SO Illegal to do so in real life like setting the handle of front door on fire to burn off Harry's hand in real life doing that could possibly burn down the house itself in the process.
That’s so true. Believe me when I say that I’ve watched “1000 Ways To Die” on & off on UA-cam & on TV since I was 11 years old in middle school. So I’ve known about death since I was a young child, even before I was 11 years old.
Home Alone 1 and 2 are just timeless masterpieces. It just ages like fine wine.
That was awesome of the directors to decide not to use a real girl so they didn't ruin her life for not even a twenty second scene. That makes me love these films even more than I already do!!

According to Daniel Stern, his scream when "Kevin" put the tarantula on his face wasn't acting but a very real scream.
I never knew that part about the spider on Marv’s face. I do know, however, that when the filmmakers felt the film needed a bit more realism in that part, they decided not to go with the animatronic tarantula. But the real live hairy one, and Daniel Stern agreed to deal on account of getting over his fear of spiders.
One thing you forgot to mention, though quite a few people in the comments probably have, is that Daniel Stern didn’t actually let out a scream while he had the tarantula on his face. He just jittered his head silently and then recorded his scream later on because he didn’t want to spook the spider into biting him. Then again, I’m surprised the spider didn’t get spooked by his abrupt jittering

Daniel Stern's scream was dubbed in later. In the same interview you played, he said he didn't actually scream because it would have scared the spider, so he only opened his mouth and didn't make a noise.

@@rogersilva4135 The tarantula wasn't de-fanged, so I think they were worried it would have bitten him. Most likely, though, it would have just scared it away. Either way, it would have ruined the shot.

I found it hilarious when I found out that Buzz's "girlfriend" was actually a boy in drag, since the filmmakers thought that it was too cruel to make fun of a girl. The more you know, right?!

One fact that will ruin your childhood is that Buzz was the only character from the original to return in the Disney plus disaster.
I actually noticed that Buzz was the only original character to return for “Home Sweet Home Alone”, too. Fun fact, I also noticed that even though “Home Sweet Home Alone” wasn’t completely better than the 1st 3 “Home Alone” movies, it’s STILL actually better than whatever’s on display in “Home Alone 4” & “Home Alone 5”.
Nearly all of this stuff I already knew due to watching the film with audio commentary on the Blu-Ray release and reading trivia online because I wanted to know how they did this scene and that effect. It didn’t ruin anything for me. If anything, it only satisfied my never-ending curiosity
Home alone 1&2 are my favorites
I knew all of these as I started to get older but the 1st I thought Macaulay Culkin did not fall off the shelves but someone else did when I 1st watched the movie when I was 9. When I was 13 I was disappointed that the B/W movie wasn't real as I went looking for it lol.

Sometimes it’s hard for me to revisit Home Alone or any of Macaulay Culkin’s movies, knowing that his father used him for financial gain. Hollywood has always been, and sadly still is, a toxic environment for children.
I tried searching for “Angels With Filthy Souls”, only to find out that it was shot specifically for the movie. Awesome!

I found out recently that the tarantula was named Barry, and Daniel Stern claimed Barry was the best tarantula he worked with. 😆
The tarantula wasn't startled because Stern didn't actually scream when placed on him. He just mimed and it and scream was added post production.

The fact that Joe Pesci always swore in movies, and had to spout gibberish in HA in order to not make the rating higher than PG, makes his scenes funnier. Even as a kid I knew he’d rather say the actual words 😂

There’s a lot of things I was blind to with all of my childhood movies and TV shows but after finding out, my childhood is not ruined
I live 3 miles south from the "Home Alone" House and I mostly go there during the holidays because that's when the owners have all the lights up, but every so often, I will pass by in the summer or fall and there's always tourists taking a picture there! LOL
I don't live that far from the Home Alone house either. I went last year to see it in person and it awesome!

wow! some of these i didn't know about. i always thought that was the actual actors going through all that stuff not stunt doubles. those stunt doubles better got paid WAY more than the rest. those poor men
I’m not sure how true this is, but I heard somewhere that they had to add Marvs scream with the spider in post production. Despite tarantulas not having ears, his breath would’ve been felt by the hairs on the spider. These vibrations might have scared the spider and caused him to bite. So, Daniels just had to make a facial expression to look like he was screaming and the screen was added later.

Sorry to disappoint you, but those facts did NOT Ruin Home Alone for me, if anything, I actually learned quite a few new things from this video that I hadn't already known.

The van that almost ran Kevin down was driven in reverse. The film was shown in reverse so it looked like it almost hit him. The scream by Stern with the spider was added post production as to not traumatize the animal.
I can see why. But- I’m so sorry- I can’t stop laughing when Harry makes that reaction. 🤣🤣🤣
So, I live a couple blocks away from the Home Alone house. FOR FREAKING HALLOWEEN THEY PUT UP NO DECORATIONS AND GAVE US NO CANDY! Not the point but when it was filmed they had to use fake snow.
i thought that it snowed after they brought in the fake snow so they didn't have to use it on the set of home alone.
Tarantula's are not poisonous and therefore harmless to humans except for a painful bite

Spiders aren't poisonous. They are venomous. The tarantula was venomous but its venom wouldn't do much to a human being.

I'm pretty sure 90s kids who grew up watching the original home alone movie would definitely wonder how the producers did things, or how harry and marv managed to survive the traps that would have killed people in real life(and how the producers ensured that Daniel Stern and Joe pesci will not get legitimately killed from taking hits from the traps)

Even though it would still probably hurt, when Marv tries to break in through the window, the ornaments that Daniel Stern/his stunt double stepped on were actually candy glass.
But we can still probably all agree from experience maybe hopefully not stepping on glass, seeing as that would lead to severe cuts. But instead, a somewhat safer scenario of stepping on a Lego.

Screen Junkies did a video showing how all the injuries from the various traps in the first two Home Alone movies wold have been diagnosed, as well as point out the likely prognoses of death that would have resulted from several of the traps. The video’s creators even treated the commentary on the traps like a video game, showing how many lives Marv and Harry would need to film the movie if the traps had actually inflicted damage. Despite all this, though, the movies will always be funny to me.

I'm not surprised that Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern struggled to keep it PG, especially since Joe was used to doing more mature movies. Also, I still wish that Angels with Filthy Souls was a real movie. Fun fact: Angels with Filthy Souls was also used as an easter egg, in Detective Pikachu.
VERY nice video. Only the information is incorrect about tarantulas. Spiders have hairs on their legs that allow them to perceive sounds.
It would be horrible if Daniel Stern were arachnophobic before finding out the mechanical tarantula looked very obviously fake
