    I got the Gold Glory too. Love the guitar but, I note that the Pick Up height is 8mm from the Low E when freted at the last fret. Is this excessively low....? I see Gibson recommend 2mm for Dog Eared pickups. Any thoughts...? Thank you

      Out of the box my bridge was set VERY high in comparison to the pickup so I dropped it so the distance felt more normal. Just depends on how you like your guitars set up, adjusting the bridge and trust rod both come into play. I prefer freakishly high action for how much bending I do but I know plenty of gigs that prefer lower action for speed. Hope that helps! ✌🏽

    Read an article on the chinese made Epiphones,, it cited the biggest issues were the fretboards -the Ple'k'd process would help but that's a third of the cost of buying one, regardless there's gonna be lemons in the bunch - article also stated they are rolling out up to 400 a day, Gibson prices have gone rabid anyway putting them out of reach for a lot of folks - bottom line is the price point - if you can dial one in and it makes you happy that is what matters - the other drawback is, if you drive it off the lot, the resell value blows, r0ck0n....

    I've got a Gold Glory. It sounds great, but the neck is a little too fat for my small hands.

    i just traded 2 gtrs plus cash for one of these. a re issue hofner club60 and tokai love rock , both china made
    i just like the look of these epiphones .but ...after a few days i sorr of started regtetting the deal .it was my desision but i felt i had done the wrong thing. i lowered the action and adjusted the truss rod ...iy still seemed high .the capo seemed to put it out of tune and it felt hard to handle .i have had big necl guitars and that wadnt the issue .i lowered again and fitted 9s. it started to flatten oit so i slackened the truss .now the strings have settled and apart from the nut needing lowering on the bass side it feels to have settled down .they are good guitars to get you thinking about how to use your nails and fingers to produce diffrent tones. if anyone buys one and gets a bit disheartened just stick with it .ok

    I have the original old glory. If your dogear is not almost touching the strings, you are not getting the most out of your pickup. I suggest putting foam under your pickup to raise it up as you have to physically raise a P90 as raising the pole pieces will not change anything. It is worth it

      I just bought a blue one with the noiseless p90; should I still do the same? It's pretty loud and bitey where it is.

    I pretty much live on the neck pickup so I could never in my life own a one pickup guitar , but I always thought that it would give better sustain, being that on a normal guitar it's routed right where the body joins the neck. Does it have more sustain?

    • @robertparkerjratx
      @robertparkerjratx  2 роки тому +4

      I would say it has a different kind of sustain rather than more, if that makes sense. Just has more harmonic under/overtones that make it so unique sounding/feeling. Hope that helps 👍🏽

      ive heard single pickup guitars do becuase it only magnets from that pickup on the strings. i forgot where heard it though was watching a video on pick ups . thats actually why ive been searching for a single pick up guitar.

    Did you have to lower your bridge? If so, what height? Mine came with the bridge really high in my opinion.

    • @robertparkerjratx
      @robertparkerjratx  3 роки тому +1

      Mine came with a high bridge as well, I’m sure it’s due to the dog ear being raised so high off the body. I lowered it a tad and adjusted the neck accordingly because I love high action on my guitars

    hey i just got one i love the feel of the guitar but does anyone feel the paint lifting next to the binding around the body? like i feel the whole shape of the guitar. Is this because of the finish? anyone else have this problem? it makes the guitar "feel" cheaply painted.

      Always a few lemons in every batch 🤷🏽‍♂️

      You can make your own water slide decals. Just find a graphic, use an app to adjust for size, print from your inkjet printer onto decal paper, clear coat, let dry, trim the decal, and apply.
