If you can put in this attention to detail with setups, polishing, etc. with just you and Cathy, every large company with hundreds of employees at their massive facilities should be doing the same. There’s zero excuse not to send a brand new guitar that looks great, is setup and intonated properly, and plays beautifully whether people are spending several hundred or several thousand dollars. People shouldn’t have to pay extra to do this stuff or expect to do the work themselves on a brand new instrument.
You and Cathy are doing right by your customers. You’re treating customers and their newly purchased Scarred guitars with dignity and respect. That’s the way everyone should do it, but that’s not the case. This attention to detail without overcharging on things that should be done on ALL guitars before leaving a facility is going to make you stand out as a brand.
Something occurred to me, btw. Why don’t bother ordering the guitars with the pickups if you’re gonna yank them and put Cathy’s? Would they let you order without the pickups? Might save you some money and a little time having to yank them all out. Maybe they can just provide the pickup rings and screws. Have you thought about that possibility? Maybe it wouldn’t save money, but maybe it would add up to a nice chunk of money saved. Just a suggestion if it didn’t occur to you to inquire with the factory about doing it this way.
🎸🤘🏻😎
Love you masha, your right. It's like what Tesla says, that's right and what it is.
You Give Them a Soul !
As Always Have a Great Week & Sean, Cathy, & Everyone Scarred ...
Hi. Nice Job! Double cut not really my thing but the reaper does look completely unique! BTW, I found when taping the frets off, if you start by running one full length strip of tape up the bass side, then tape all frets off so the tape goes onto that strip, you can much more easily remove the tape by just puuling the long piece of as it lifts all the fret tape at the same time. Tada!
If anyone is wondering if this is just marketing hype, I can confirm that Sean's setup on a Scarred guitar is perfection. These guitars beat anything you will find hanging in a guitar shop. I look forward to Sean and Cathy having a lot of success cranking out these guitars and getting these into the hands of more and more guitar players.
Scarred For Life!!
That's service!!!. Good luck on your own manufacturing facility
dear EVERYONE ELSE making guitars: this is what your finishing process should look like.. Kudos guys, that's awesome, AND awesome QC..
You went over and above. If there was a Pelham Blue Reaper I'd buy it and ask for remorse after. Love ya both, but my wife doesn't know what a guitar is. You make a Pelham Blue, I have first dibs.
Just an idea for a name for your semi hollow guitars the "Undertaker". You have the reaper. Next step is the undertaker. 🤣 I mean it's a hollow box⚰️should come with a "coffin case" 🤣
Man the Reapers sound unbelievable Cathys picups are awesome. How about a dirty lemmon Reaper
Quality! Guitar kits! Hell yeah!
Wow, over and above with even some of Cathy’s pickups? What a deal ! Love to hear it through a vintage 100w Marshall and half stack.
Quality, Quality, Quality!!!
Next time someone calls me a dummy, I'll be thankful for the compliment.
Just got my Reaper, and it's a beauty! Thanks Sean & Cathy!
You are welcome brother! Hope it lasts a lifetime!
It's sure is a nice looking guitar! You all do good work
I got to the Trog video today where he rated your guitar. He liked it.
SO FOR $840.37, YOU GET A GUITAR WITH "DIME" SIZE POTS?
Sean, Would love to see how you set up the intonation. Can you give us dummies a clue? Great channel....Love to you and the boss.
If the notes hit sharp move the saddle back. If flat move it forward.
I'm actually proud of what you achieved. A cool design that can make me think if i want to support some guys i don't know but have been in the industry for a long time. Or the one who took the time to analyze everything that was wrong with this industry and took the time to address it. I have my own models but their are less conventional more modern approach so i want to know what i'm gonna do with those.
I can’t tell if I don’t like the body shape or if I love it. 🧐but shit do I want one
Wow Sean and Cathy! Once again you show the world your luthier chops and level of commitment to your customers! Crazy question: Should we be concerned about geometry changes due to the guitar riding in a hot delivery truck, sitting in a jet cargo-hold at 30,000 feet and back on another hot (or cold) delivery truck to its final destination? I know some techs suggest letting a guitar become "acclimated" for a few days before doing any final setup tweaks. Your thoughts???
Play it and tweak it as ya go!
Great to see these developments ! All the more success to you both from Down Under!☑☑☑☑☑
Much appreciated!
Allrightythen muh dude?!
I honestly should have listened to you about them Red/Black Squier Sonic Telecasters. Dayum!
Yet, my eyes made the purchase. One of THE WORST out of the box fret jobs EVER. Worse than the last Epiphone I got.
So bad? zZounds gave me $50 credit cash back. LMAO!
Anyhoo...
That Reaper right there?!
It's body carve sorta reminds me a whole helluva lot of them rare and rather expensive Ovation Ultra-GPs circa 1984!
Being a huge QOTSA fan without 4k to spend? Me likey. Me likey a whole lot.
Put two old school big block covered DiMarzio Super 2s in that sumb'ich with either a matte red or black finish?
ooo la la...
Yess Sir!
It'll be on like MF Donkey Kong!
Ha-Ha!
Anyway...
Much love & respect from the Central (WS/G'boro/HP) North Carolina Triad Area my brother!
Woot-Woot!
✌
Comment left strictly for your benefit Sean and Cathy.
Thanx 4 the EVH ❤
you bet!
I'm saving up, Sean and Cathy.. .half way there. And if the price goes up on the next batch, I'll just save a little more!
Beautiful guitar, hope to get one someday🤘
You should make a set neck v kit!!! Baritone 27inch scale!
You should make a set neck v kit!!! Baritone 27inch scale!
Sean you have an awesome channel. Thank you both and all for your creative work.
Thanks so much
This would make a perfect session guitar. Those split coil tones are convincing! You can play just about anything with this guitar.
The action on the guitar looks very low, that's perfect for me .
You makin any lefties?
To expensive for me, would cost me £868 including postage to get to England. If there is one thing I learnt from you Sean is that good guitars need not be expensive. I do love the unique shape though. If I were to buy a guitar from you it have to be one you make with your own hands.
Blue for bridge and greeN for Neck, pretty good idea!
How hot does Cathy wind the pickups?
She does super well in those
Sean... after seeing this im seriously considering taking the down payment i have on the Tony Iommi Epiphone Monkey SG i have off and ordering a reaper.... i know for a fact epiphone does not care this much regardless of whos names on it!!!. wow im blown away with you and cathys care for your products, plus i love how these are one of a kind shapes u guys made... no other famous musician has made this shape theres yet!! everyone has a chance to make this theyre "Les Paul" much love you guys! (does the reaper come in a cherry red?)
Also do they all come with cathys pickups? those sound 100x better then the probuckers i got in my les paul
Sounds great Sean. Those pick-ups and and luithier skills you have a definite winner. Do you have a lefty version. Thanks and 73 Earnest k5ewm .
You all did well that is a really nice looking guitar also
Is it expensive to get one to sweden 😅 i think i need one 🤘
Check here www.ebay.com/usr/scarmyguitar
Top notch as always
Love your channel. You guys prove it doesn't have to cost a fortune for a properly set up ready to play guitar.
Totally appreciate the fact that you guys go over the guitars and make sure everything works perfectly. 👍👍👍🤘🤘
Man that is a lovely guitar and it sounds fantastic! I can't recall if I asked you but do you make pickups for Tele style guitars too? You're a lucky man Sean having a smart wife who is into this as much as you, Best Wishes to you both!
Yes we do! www.ebay.com/usr/scarmyguitar
I love that reaper guitar I want one
That is a very nice guitar. The pickups sound great. I sent this video to my Grandson. We are looking for his second guitar.
I didn't know you sold these. You should just fix up random cheap amazon guitars and sell them at a profit. i would buy one
What happened to the scarred replacement necks? the hemisphere fret end necks you said you were selling on some videos
Finally a new episode of my favorite Soap Opera
That is pretty neat the way that you guys set up the guitars and the attention to detail. How long does it take to do all that with making the replacement pickups and the set up? It goes back to what you said in previous videos about the importance of quality and the investment of time. Very informative video.
I would love to see a Full video on how to setup a Pedalboard and settings IE Front of amp and Line through etc and the differences, top quality work Guys
Just curious, what do you do with the old tuners, pickups, pots, and switches that come in the guitars? Do you resell them or just save them and sell for scrap?
That Reaper is a fantastic looking and sounding guitar. Thank you for sharing with us.
And We really appreciate you and Cathy's hard work in getting those sweet guitars and videos out to Us! You Guys, ROCK!
Man,I need one!
appreciate that attention to detail. Really good job all the way around.
I see definitely need one these in my life that's one good looking guitar
That Reaper’s a nice-lookong guitar. Sounds good too!
Thanks for sharing.
Sean, Just curious as to why you do anything to the pickups that come on your guitars from the factory. Looks great by the way can't wait for the strat style guitars.
Strats are on E-bay bro! Cathy's sound better!
Cathy's pickups lookin 🔥! Nice!
Nice work! I learn something every time I tune in.
Okay, if I want a reaper how do I ge tmy hands on one?
Nice. Lots of work for you.
Any left-handed Reapers?
Yo Sean that read sparkle guitar I got from you has been amazing. Now I want one in another color😂 Wouldn't mind one of those tele's either. Anyone that's interested, I wouldn't hesitate. Your not going to find a better deal for those specs. And the pups are bad ass. Really warm and articulate. I'm def not a killer player but I uploaded a cpl really short demos if anyone wants to hear what the pups sound like w gain. In room w Peavey 6505 plus combo through a boss gt3. Haven't had time to do anything longer.
Your a good guy…. Lets have a beer!!
I am loving these guitars, they look great. They sound great. The price is incredible and the big thing that I am so impressed with is your commitment to quality control, you show such pride in your guitars and that is huge…
I have bought namebrand guitars with twisted necks, frets that are in need of serious leveling or more. You are taking the time to make sure that your frets are correct before you send them out. There is not a lot of other companies that do this, that is something to be proud of! Wax potting, on and on. Awesome 👏🏼 job… as a lifelong player, these guitars are made for the playing musician, and they are affordable enough for anybody that has a gig. I have a very strong feeling your company is going to takeoff like a rocket and that is because of your commitment to quality. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 nice work!
👍
Sadly the money I had for one went into repairs of my ac unit that is on its last summer I think. Maybe next year I can get one? But I love your guitars Sean. I hope someday to have one in my music room.
Sean, how come we never see your process of adjusting string height and intonation? Did this guitar need that kind of fine tuning?
No it was fine
Excellent work you two!
The headstock on the neck is great!
How much i want one
For 800.00 you personally do this to every guitar?
Looks and sounds awesome!
I didn't know you built guitars with binding. I somehow had this idea that you frowned on bindings.
I'm not selling guitars to myself ;) Other people want and like binding.
@@scarmyguitar That makes sense.
I thought you always complained about dime pots?
Only cheap ones, get it right.
Looks like a quality instrument!
Super cool
I like the black or the goldtop reapers.. What is the neck profiles? Its missing in the Ebay description
12in radius with 70's Gibson profile :)
Love the videos. You guys make soldering to pot surfaces look so damn easy. Every time I do it I have a hardass time getting the solder to stick, even after roughing it up with sandpaper.
The trick is to let the pot heat up before applying the solder ;) It won't stick unless the pot is hot enough to melt the soler.
Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. And you can't do it with the same tip that you use to solder smd resistors with! (Like you'd be doin' that if you don't know how to solder, lol.)
Use a "chisel" soldering tip! Keep the whole flat surface of the tip on the pot, until it's hot enough to melt the solder.
Just keep touching the solder to it to check if it melts.
But, once it does get hot enough, very quickly put a drop of solder onto the pot, then apply the pre-tinned wire(s), and hold them down with something like a soldering tool, a small screwdriver tip, or whatever, until the solder cools for about 10-15 seconds. Then you can stop holding it if you want. But don't move the wires for another minute or so until the solder is cool to the touch.
The reason I say "quickly" is cuz you don't want want to get the pot any hotter than you need to, or you might melt the plastic parts inside of it!
Good luck!
Practice!
@@jeffro. I get ya. I do use a chisel tip, that really is the only tip type I have ever used since it has the ability to 'hold' solder. I guess I was afraid to hold the tip on the pot for too long in fear of damaging it with too much heat or desoldering any other wires already soldered to it. I'm definitely an amateur at soldering/electronics but would love to get into it more. Dream is to one day maybe build one of these pedal kits.
Kenny here..if you do kits..be nice if they were plug n play..you know..?
Great job Sean, I'm hoping that was the last tobacco that was available when I ordered.
Awesome job to the both of you!
🎶🎵🎶🎵👍🍻🇺🇸😎
That's a beautiful guitar. What is the retail price after all the scarred tweaks? I DON'T do ebay.
I just clicked the link... Reapers are $799. There are other guitars for $499.
@@markdeloria20 Thank you for that.
Love the guitars guys, when you going to jump on the amplifiers?
Build us some quality amps!
Have you ever played a acoustic walden d351sr and if you have how do you compare it
Obviously these are great guitars because of the details you put into making them perfect!
And have you ever heard of a bass guitar called a melodier from the 70s and 80s
Do you guys ship internationally? To Australia?Really keen on one
Could you do a review on a e2 eclipse your reviews are awesome i would like to no your thoughts
What do you do with the pick ups you take out.

Very cool, and worth the wait. Your attention to detail is outstanding, second to none!
I love the shape that you first sent to trogly. Awesome 😮
I see a Reaper in my near future.
Wow《《《《《~¿~》》》》》
great job
Def on my list of guitars I need... Says 799 plus like 80 something shipping, so hopefully not too much difference converting to Canadian dollhairs. 🤘🏿🎸🇨🇦🤘🏿
