Got 200k miles on my 09 328i. If you are looking to get into BMW’s but dont know much about them this is the PERFECT platform to start with. The N52 engine is bulletproof (specially the later ones) only thing to look for and repair immediately is the oil filter housing gasket leak which is an easy job and cost $40 in parts.
anything else to look out for in the long run ? I’m looking in buying one
@@gflorezz fuel pump. It will fail on you and leave you stranded on the road as it has happened to me. Fuel pump has gone out 3 times on me since ive owned it. I have a 2010 BMW 328i with 130K miles. Fuel pump and oil housing gasket leak has been my only issues. I live in California so fuel pump has been taken care of for free everytime under the SULEV warranty from BMW.
Is the 2010 328i N52 bulletproof?
@@Il0ve_FluffyemojicatThat appears to be an N51 problem, the N52 appears to be safe from that...

We had a 2011 328i get traded in to the dealership I work at. Only 38k on the clock and practically brand new. Sold within days as all it needed was new tires (they were over 5 years old) and an oil change. The only weak spot with these cars are the cooling system. Once you hit 8 to 10 years old and around 90 to 100k on the clock it would be a good time to have the cooling lines checked and definitely replace the water pump/thermostat.
I own a 2009 328i and it has 109,000 miles on it I really love this car and I haven’t had any problems….but hey I’m still on a warranty
I have this same engine in my 2008 528i and it’s the most reliable BMW ever! I’m at 230,562 miles and in 10 years I’ve only had to do basic maintenance!
Have you take it into long road trips?? I’m looking at a 09 with 210k miles but it runs pretty good, but I do road trips frequently so I want to make sure this is the right choice
@@Mrwinecontrerasbest car for a road trip
I ordered my 2001 BMW 330i M Sport specifically with 5 speed manual transmission and manual seats. No need to adjust after the first time since I am the only driver. A rear model 22 years later that is in mint garage kept condition. Black exterior, tan interior. It wins every show which it enters.
Nice video! I have a 328i E91 wagon and yes you can modify them, though not for too much gain. The only difference between a 328i and 330i is intake and tune, and I made the mod in my garage. For sedans, probably makes sense to just buy a 330i if you want the extra 30 hp. Unfortunately they did not make a 330i wagon so I had to take things into my own hands.
there is a recall on these care because they may spontaneously combust due to a heater in the pvc valve
I have a 2004 325xi 253k miles runs like new! Motor is bulletproof
Yo Nice Video! I have a 2006 e90 330xi and I have loved it throughout high school, I bought it for 4k and have put about 5k into it in total including regular matinence so not horrible. It's got 160k miles and still looks great. Primary reasons I bought it, looks 10 years newer than it is, premium interior, relatively quick and not turbo. Love seeing a similar car get reviewed.
My relatives have a 06 e90 as well, the more basic model tho, it’s a beautiful vehicle even when all faded and old looking. It’s given them many issues as of lately, granted they don’t really maintain their cars that well, but they also have an 08 accord with the same
Mileage and it’s never given them any mechanical problems.
I agree their 06 can pass as a 2009 or even a 2012
These cars are everywhere. It's the standard for compact luxury. The 328 is still somewhat simple and that helps the reliability. I still wouldn't want to own one but these aged well both in design and reliability. It's unmistakably BMW. The Germans just have to overcomplicate and overengineer everything.
I guess technically most new cars have climate control on the wheel. You push the voice command button and tell it what you want.
Yeah they are still very popular, they sold!
I own one. Got it spot on. Love this little car.
The 3 series is Civic/Corolla sized… not Accord/Camry…
that’s what i was thinking lol
You can easily fix the cup holders. Just need to remove it, pull the spring up and through its original slot then put a zip tie on the "T" end of the spring.
Lost me at zip tie
@carlovesfam6069 the spring pulls through a little opening that breaks. The zip tie just keeps it from pulling through.
I'm considering getting a daily car and I found one with 39k on it. Mint cond. This video has helped me make my decision.
That’s a rare luck up, grab it while you can. You won’t regret it
I'm looking forward to make this my first car
I love E90s, my cousin’s parents have a 06 3 series since new!
Amazing that cupholder extended
2009 BMW 328i xDrive here as well. Problem I had was a thermostat that was failing which tripped the yellow service light. Went on for 3 months and all of a sudden it disappeared. Another problem is the oil leak. It was smoking at every start up each day. I believed it to be valve cover leaks or something.
Fun car with a manual. They also have a decent aftermarket to bring it up to newer standards if that's what one wants.
love my 328i, great fun daily.
I have a friend who had one and his coolant expansion tank straight up exploded on the highway a month into ownership
Got fixed?
@@_Rex2😂
When you said the owners name was Daniel I got that Elton John song stuck in my head.
You can put some napkins in those “cup holders” 😂😂
The E46 had optional hill descent control and yes it's strange for this type of vehicle.
Use it. Even if it’s just one hill …
5:10 There is also another 12v outlet under the glove compartment
I had no idea
Paddle shifters? Would it do ok with a full exhaust system or say a pop tune? Great video!
I'm from Montreal Canada now I have 295 000k in my 328 Xdrive 2009 and No rust on it she's like brand new and the best part is gonna be next summer 😁 a beautiful swap 335i engine and transmission and of course a single big turbo so bye bye 💪💪💪💪
One of the better bmws. Yes. Very reliable. Do nit get the turbo.
Why not ?

The 2017-2019 Toyota Corolla has the gauges laid out in a similar way with an information screen in the middle
True but the weird Toyota shrouding, chrome and colors makes it feel a lot less serious and blunt than the BMW gauge clusters.
Bro Your Awesome 100 % Respect Your re views are facts and you keep it real! Have a Great Day IceMan:)
Pretty cool, could you do a video on what all the buttons do and how to operate everything? (like the radio ect). I just bought one for $3500 for my first car and I'm super excited.
I recently got hit and had mine totaled. Moved into a 2018 340i gt, and it’s just not the same. Nothing wrong with the 340, but the 328 just holds a special place. So smooth and relatively reliable for its age and what bmw was producing at the time with the n54 and such. Oh yea, and it’s naturally aspirated. You won’t be disappointed, good luck and safe driving!
My dad's car seems to have a cupholder in the center console with air vents, and there is some kind of switch inside that presumably turns on the airflow.
I’ve got one 2011 xdrive it’s nice
E90’s are fantastic cars. Sure, they have dated in some areas, but they are still good nonetheless.
I have its cousin (of sorts), a 2008 BMW 130i with the same engine (a vehicle you unfortunately never received in America).
If you ever make a trip to Australia, give the 130i a try. You won’t be disappointed!
I always liked how these looked, one of my personal nicknames for this vehicle is sexy. They still look kinda modern too imo, the lines and shapes hold up inside and out, tech wise they are very outdated lol
Thanks that was a fun informative review
Germans are funny sometimes, like the 04 to 10 X3 has a very attractive dash design but then the steering wheel looks 10 years older than the rest of the dash and looks ugly lol
Branding. Nothing wrong with that. I like it.
how is the fuel efficiency.
This was my dad’s first car and he got it in late 2014 and it was totalled from a teen pulling out from a parking lot. After he got a 2015 bmw x5 I drive 35i base model, which got stolen💀, his insurance got him a 2016 BMW X5 Idrive35 M with all the sport packs and etc, and in total he had owned 3 bmws
Who is this young boy and what did he do with Wolfman Zack! 😁
I have this exact model. There is a second cigarette outlet located under the glove box on the left side, up against the center consol. I didn’t know about it until I read it on another persons post.
To be watching this while trying to figure out if I should buy a 2009 328i, living in the town that he shot those photos of the car at and knowing exactly what road he is on freaks me out and I use this as a sign of buying the car.
If
You did buy it how is it holding up so far tho
Haha that’s awesome, I’m Daniel and that’s my car. Sadly the valve cover is currently leaking oil all over and I need to replace it, $150 for a new upgraded valve cover and gasket, just haven’t gotten around to fixing it yet. I personally would recommend the car and if you see me around town say what’s up, I’d be happy to give you a tour of it lol.
@@simonisdanilo3950 I’ve owned that car for about 5 months now, it’s been great besides that the valve cover started leaking, luckily it’s a cheap fix and not too difficult.
Any differences with the RWD ?
Uhm yes......one turns rear wheels, the other all wheels
Xdrive more things to maintain (transfer case, drive axles) and remove during maintenance. Rwd has a better road feel especially with 6sp manual.
Great video. Is this a GM or ZF transmission?

These 2009 are a little bit bigger then the other years of this model. Even the coupe
Is that i6 the n54 nonturbo?
I6 N52. The N54 is the turbo engine which comes on the 335i.
is there an aux option

I think cars today will age very well, the early 2000s was a bad time for auto design, I wonder if we’ll ever run into another era of bad design, let’s hope not lol
I think the 1970's, 80' , and 90's era designs were some of the most hideous overall generation of car design. Mid 2000's were actually the golden Era of engineering and engines in a sense. N/a engines coupled with the tech of that Era and some like the e90 are pretty good looking cars. And somewhat timeless design. Which cannot be said of the earlier era's
@@brandonbogart7195 The E60 was close but it has some ugliness. The E90 is absolutely beautiful from every angle. Weather the design is dated or not is subjective imo, but I’d say it looks 2007, although sales started in early 2005. And you know, it still looks fairly modern, why? I don’t know actually it just does, I guess it’s the sexiness 🤷♂️ and the E60 looks kinda cheap inside which the E90 doesn’t. I guess also the materials, it was around 2007ish when car companies started to discover very visually appealing designs imo.
