    The simpler a dish, the harder it is to get it done to perfection. It's really impressive that a simple dish like this bowl of rice with grilled eel has won a Michelin star. It must be really delicious...

      TheAntibyte I've watched it before! I still dream of visiting that restaurant some day just to experience what sushi made in the hands of a master tastes like. Likewise, Jiro's sushi are also all very simple.

    I love this. So many Michelin starred restaurants and highly regarded restaurants have such an attitude. They always brag about have the best dish, the best ingredients, the best technique. This guys was just like "I hope they like my food. I don't want them to be disappointed." Its amazing. I really want to eat there now.

      Johnny D not at all. Depends if they're assholes or not. There are many Eastern assholes in Japan as there are in the West, except France is the most arrogant nation probably

    • @mrstrdknmabalz1412
      @mrstrdknmabalz1412 6 років тому +2

      'Easterners' is a really general term. China is eastern country, and chinese tourist are known worldwide to have a very bad attitude (not all of course). While japanese is the like the opposite of it, they are known for their manner(and once again, not all of them).

    • @jarenong
      @jarenong 6 років тому +1

      Too many self hating westerners lol. The western civilization is a great civilization, they invented things like cars, airplanes, lightbulb etc. The greatest civilization in the east is China, they invented paper, printing, compass, gunpowders, seismographs, porcelain etc. Including the mother language for east asia, hanzi. Japan did not invent but rather improved on existing products, they made cars better, cameras better and video games better. They did invent bullet trains. Instant Ramen fun fact was invented by a Chinese called Go Pek-Hok who moved to Japan and became momofuku ando. Of course, the japanese will try to hide the fact that instant ramen is invented by a Chinese as much as they can ;) Notice how the Cup Noodle museum did not mention where he was born! Shameful japan, japanese are not as honorable as you might think!

    • @makeshifthouse
      @makeshifthouse 7 років тому +14

      I tried the dish in January. Other than being really good, fluffy, and richer in taste, it was slightly different from the unagi i normally eat (and HAPPY is such an apt word to describe the way unagi makes me feel).
      From that day on, I became a lot more sensitive to unagis. Unagi still make me no less happy than before though.
      GO TRY IT! AND ORDER THE LARGE DON RATHER THAN THE REGULAR. Don't go too late, their last order is something like 830. We went at 8 and they were already bringing their signs back indoors.

    I went here last week.
    Unagi was cooked very well, extremely delicate.
    Sauce was subtle so the focus was more on the natural flavor of the eel. However you need to appreciate the eel texture, don't come here just for the Michelin star or you won't like it.
