I am a mother of 2 sons who are now 52 and 48. When I see you and Ashton together, it reminds me of when we would take our boys on vacation to various places and we let them pick out baseball cards or any souvenir they wanted. You are so nice to him, Jocelyn, and are gentle and tender in your comments to him. It is endearing to hear you call him "baby" and let him pick what he wants even tho, with your expertise, it may not be what you would select. He will be a loving man because of your loving mothering of him. Great job, mom!
Loved Andrew's face when you said I want all of this. Great seeing how the kids have grown and their interest in all the things you love. Great setting in that Grove. Fall is coming
What a absolutely beautiful place ! So much gorgeous glass! Lovely to see you Dagney and Kat shop together! 💞 Those Pendants were a steal at that price !
5:14 Ashton, that rooster is from my country, Portugal! It’s a medieval story. It tells the story of a dead rooster's miraculous intervention in proving the innocence of a man who had been falsely accused and sentenced to death
This video had everything but my favorite was all of the kids. When you're young and busy with life it's hard to slow down and enjoy their sweet little selves. When they're grown and you finally slow down a bit you miss them so so much. Thanks for the smiles 💜!!
My mom collected Portugal rooaters...Hers were all more than $3.. she recently passed away. I gave her portugal roosters to her favorite friends to remember her.
I loved this vid so much. There's so much joy with the way you so patiently teach your kids your knowledge and you include them! It's so cool that your whole fam gets to spend time like this together - and with Dagney even and your other friend! How fun! Thanks for including us also! :).
That was so much fun ! Loved seeing everyone ! Wish we had shady flea markets like that here, ours are all in the sun, or indoors. I love seeing Andrew pick up A&P items, it brings back memories for me. I'm seventy-three and I've been to those stores so many times in the past. Remember going there with my Mom from the time I was about 3 years old, and went there later with my late DH up until they closed. The oldest A&P in my hometown, which was gone before I was born, actually had "The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company" in big, brass letters across the front above the windows. Fancy !
I am hosting our local Buy Nothing's Fall Give and Take. One person dropped off some great stuff. I started to look at it with more critical eyes. She had Capadamonte (no chips) and figurines and soap stone animals. I kept thinking that Jocelyn and Dagne would love these. If they don't find homes, they will be mine. You two are a dynamic duo when you thrift and I laugh but I learn also. I am beginning to feel that you two (and Andrew and the rest of the sourcing and tech people) are like friends I look forward to seeing every day.
Yay. A&P. My Dad worked for them as a produce manager until they closed all the stores. I guess Andrew and I are six degrees of separation of A&P life.
Those glass pieces you looked at near the end are sock darners. I have a small collection of darners, some of which I still use, but the glass ones I use for decor only.
Juliet cracked me up at the beginning. I love the blue vase and that black thing , pear, glass cat. Ashton wants to sell too! He’s sweet! I liked the blue and Rose Quartz Ashton had shown and the green gem you had Jocelyn, white opalescent vase on the edge oh my!! Too many goodies! I wish I could have been there.😌
You need to get a shopping cart to put things in. You can put your bags in there when they get full. Would be nice for the markets. I carry my groceries from the car to the house. I love it.
The goodies!!!!!😮😮😮😮😮😮😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍. What a marvelous marvelous market👏👏👏👏👏👏👏. I had to pause the video a few times so I could drool to my hearts content. That iridescent vase was spectacular! Too many gorgeous pieces to mention!!! Thank you for sharing as I'm sure it must be tiring filming, if not physically then mentally.
Tell Ashton that tiger eye also comes in naturally in red and blue. When it comes to glass weights, signatures don't mean as much as the process. Much of the early weights were end of day pieces and the blower was allowed to sell these on the side as long as there was no conflict of interest, meaning no signatures. Once you understand the process, you can get a better idea of pricing. A simple weight where you are able to say that was done in A B C process will not be worth as much as one done in A B C and how on earth did they do D. The more complex the weight, the more it costs. This is the same for art glass in general. I currently have a triangular vase in a multicolored morta della design. I can understand the process to the point of the veining between the colors. It's silver. It's not added afterwards, but it's in the glass. I'm not even sure if it is silver, mercury or perhaps lead. What is a fact, this 10 inch x 3 inch vase was just under 800 American dollars in the 90s and it is Czech. Why this is so, is the process involved in the making.
@@audreyholt7721 It truly is a very good piece of art. Better yet, I bought it on Marketplace for 34 dollars. I don't like buying sight unseen, but there was something about it and I was willing to take a gamble. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to sell it. I am very small potatoes compared to the ways Jocelyn has in selling higher priced goods.
@@rebahensley5323 A little knowledge rarely hurts. It opens up to buying and selling things that aren't necessarily your personal taste. I am also at the age where I am willing to give away everything that I know.
I love the pens I have many of them and use them to write in my journal. If you write with them make sure you do it lightly or you will break the glass tip off and then they are useless . SO pretty. Alot of ppl use them for caligraphy
Those head vases make me giggle. My grandma called the florist and asked for a head on a pedestal, but the florist heard 'head on a pistol'. Apparently she searched for a while, and called and told my grandma she had a shotgun she could use one of the heads with, but couldn't find a pistol. Lol They are lovely, but I smile everytime I see one.
You're just like me with your son..when you told him he was going to get pink eye!! I busted out laughing!! 🤣 🤣 I was always having to reign my daughter in from trying on old , worn, hats, sunglasses, scarves...Anything that had to do with her hair & face...she was putting it right on it!!! LOVE your channel & videos...you're such a refreshing person to watch in today's world of social media!!! Thank you!!!
The glass at 17:53 could be for watering plants you fill them up and push into the soil and it slowly waters. I've seen something similar but they usually have tapered bottoms xxx Love this video and love how interested Ashton and Juliette were xxx
Loved this video so many beautiful things. I love how your kids are young and they are learning from you. Your son has amazing taste has a good 👁️. Thanks for putting out another great video. I have some stuff I was gonna try and sell on ebay pick up here and there try make extra cash since I'm on SSI. But my dog need surgery so I'm going to have to sell my stuff locally as it's $627 he has a hematoma his poor ear looks bad. Y'all please stay safe and blessed. Much love from your favorite viewer Jacksonville NC
Boy, what a nice flea market. Your kids are becoming your helpers now, which is great! I look forward to your next video, You are so lucky you have such nice places down your way. Up North in New England we do not have the selection that you do.
Aw shucks!! Ashton has a good eye. I would've been a player on his rooster. So. Juliette and Ashton like to join you on your vintage shopping. Does Walter have interest in it as well?
How fun you can have a contest everyone that likes the pile pick five put them up as a lot and see who's makes more money so happy to see Ashton involved
I continue to be amazed by your talent to pick the right items to flip and impressed with how fast you get your picks on to Ebay. You must have so much fun going to all these fabulous places. It's hard to find flea markets anymore and this looks like a great one.
I cant believe how much your kids have grown! Ashton has lost his baby face look. Gonna have to beat the girls off one day soon! I am amazed how your kids appreciate the glass and things you are interested in!
The kids really need to wear shoes like tennis. Just a note. Not not being critical. I know from experience I have gone with my dad since I was 7 yrs. Old. Now I'm 68 and I'm taking my granddaughter.
Fun video. Check the metal on the pendants. A lot come from India and are marked sterling, but are only a silver plate. I've bought some before and silver wears off.
What a great trip! The moment you stepped into the grove, a breeze wafted through my apartment... I felt like I was there with you. LOL It's so nice to see Ashton engaged in what you do! Sorry that his rooster broke... it was a great buy. Can't help but worry after Juliette stepped on a rusty thumbtack... has she had a recent tetanus shot? Great scores today... thanks for taking us along!
My jaw literally dropped at the sight of all of the jewelry! 😲
Such a fun fun time and great to see Ashton interested in reselling!! Can't wait to hang out again!

I love that your children already know so much about what they are looking at and have personal collections.

Ashton and Juliette are just great at learning and listening. That looked like tons of fun!!!!❤
Lots of fun with friends. Pretty vases and extra cool 😎 pens!
Great shopping with whole family. Everyone looked like they were having fun.
“Penguin, penguin, yeah, kitty, penguin, penguin.” Hilarious!
I love the field trips, especially with friends and family. Thanks for taking us along! 🥰

Those labradorite pendants were a steal! One of them looked like it had a lot of labradoressence even on camera. I would have picked up more of those!

Hi Jocelyn. Flea market looked fun. Loved the vases and the dish. Marie
So glad you made it to Shupps Grove before the end of the season. I hope you liked it. Seems like you had a fun time. Love the shade.
That place is amazing!
The glass items you found and didn’t know what they were-they are darning eggs.
I've gathered crystals for decades. I, too, love labradorite and have many specimens. It's so beautiful. So is fluorite. Nice picks!
What a beautiful setting.
Many Years ago sold at Rennigers Flea but just to buy always loved Shupps because of trees and more laidback energy ☮️

Sad about the rooster. I was going to bid on that. Please tell him he has a good eye!

Had never seen glass ones. I have an old wood one but it is quite a bit smaller.

My guess on what those “globes” with handles: could be sock darning devices. Or fancy plant waterers is also a good guess.
I agree with the sock darner, the hole in the end is too small for watering.
@@TheMryphipps It also would be tapered and have an angle cut on the bottom if it were for watering. So I think sock darning or decorative.
