Thanks for the "de Blonde" reference, that reference long puzzled me. I hear - "...inside and I be the lonely one, my pride.." "..ringing the angel, the daughter' '...folly grew, heady deicide in a dell" which makes grisly sense if your sad explanation for the song is accurate.
I don't think the words are "gibberish", there is cleary a feeling of lonliness, isolation and longing present in the words (him talking of his "bride" and describing himself as far away and empy). I do agree that at times the word usage is a bit nonsensical, but in my opinion that's part of the charm of Syd's lyrics, he was able to rhyme about such wild dreamscapes but still so clearly give off a feeling or idea or sense of being with his music.
This is art rock and noone can pretend .. RIP Syd 😢

It’s a lovely song but the words are gibberish like most of his post Piper songs.
I don't think the words are "gibberish", there is cleary a feeling of lonliness, isolation and longing present in the words (him talking of his "bride" and describing himself as far away and empy). I do agree that at times the word usage is a bit nonsensical, but in my opinion that's part of the charm of Syd's lyrics, he was able to rhyme about such wild dreamscapes but still so clearly give off a feeling or idea or sense of being with his music.
I think he had a great way with words, he used them in his songs like no one else.
