    Location
The Southern Stairs are located at the southern part of the Temple Mount at the Davidson Center.
    Historical Background
    1. The Southern Stairs were the main entrance to the Temple Mount during the time of Christ.
    2. King Herod had them redone and made them staggered so no one could enter the presence of God without being thoughtful in the process.
    3. The width of the stairs was hundreds of feet wide, so they provided plenty of space for congregating and teaching.
    4. They were the main access to the temple from the City of David and the western area of the city, where most of the population lived.
    5. Multitudes arrived at the stairs by using a main road (Herodian St.) that connected the Pool of Siloam to the Temple Mount.
    6. The Pool of Siloam was a massive mikveh at the lower part of the City of David that was used by the Jews for purification purposes before entering the Temple Mount.
    7. There were also many purification mikvehs at the base of the Southern Stairs as well (around 48 total).
    8. The Southern Stairs were also called “The Rabbis’ Stairs” or the “Teaching Stairs” as rabbis taught their disciples on them.
    9. There is no doubt Jesus would have walked on these stairs and taught His disciples here. It’s also likely that the young Apostle Paul sat here under the teaching of Gamaliel as well (Acts 22:3).
    10. The stairs were cut out of the bedrock of the mountain and part of them can still be seen today.
    11. It’s very likely that part of Pentecost took place here or ended up here.

A 22-foot wide street also ran along the southern wall of the Temple. About 37 feet of this street can still be seen at the southwest corner, where it begins to ascend rapidly through a series of stairs until it reaches the Double Gate. Although we know the route, the street is not visible after the initial 37-foot section until it reaches the Double Gate. At the Double Gate it is again visible down to the Triple Gate. Stairs run up to this street from the south, coming up the Ophel from the south. The remains of these stairs are also still visible. In fact, they are still useful to visitors. As the street continues along the southern wall toward the east a series of vaults, similar to the vaults under the street along the Western Wall, were built to support it. These vaults, or arches, supported the street along the southern wall and were also used as shops. www.generationword.com/jerusalem101/47-southern-temple-wall.html

the southern stairs there are actually the stairs to the 10,000 person Roman Antonia Fortress. Temple is near the Gihon spring in the City of David. Do some valid archeological research and accurate scripture correlation. Those are Roman steps.

Thank you for your comments. The historical evidence is overwhelming that Herod the Great enlarged the temple mount and built the new temple over the existing one. This evidence is irrefutable. Also, regarding the Temple being in the City of David, Scripture says that at the dedication of the Temple that Solomon built, in 2 Chronicles 5, that the Ark of the covenant was brought, "out of the City of David to the Temple, "Then Solomon assembled to Jerusalem the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the fathers’ households of the sons of Israel, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the city of David, which is Zion." If the Ark was brought out of the City of David to the Temple, then the Temple couldn't have been in the City of David.

Sorry about the music. Many like it, some don't. We have lowered the background music in our newer videos.

@J Moore you're a weak whiney snowflake. The world doesn't revolve around you. No one cares if you like the music. Leave and don't come back. Your ignorance won't be missed.

How in the world is this music entertainment? You’re assuming an evil motive where there is none. If you want to accuse someone of misusing music, look at Bethel Church instead.
