I've been feeling haunted by his solo performance. He included voice messages left on an answering machine from his grandparents; wishing him happy birthdays, happy new years, general well wishes. Incorporated with the themes from the film Synecdoche, New York with Piano One, hit a melancholy note that had me in tears. The noisier parts functioned as the passage of time and its distortion of memory. Intermittent dancey beats illustrated how life is is not lined, but checkered with joy. Near the end of the set he ripped the mask off and started shredding and headbanging. Like a lost Nirvana freakout. It was the most profound expression of regret and sorrow. I had to leave during Pinback's set. Nick was behind the merch table by the door; I bought a tshirt from him and thanked him heavily. I don't think this guy could ever receive enough recognition for his talent.
@@burnhitsforlove3317 ua-cam.com/video/LkKvrWPJGxk/v-deo.html I was hoping to find the same and came across this video of him playing in MI. Unfortunately they didn't capture the freakout at the end, but it's still a great performance. This was a solo show touring in support of Pinback, as an opener. Rob Crow actually came out at one point and played backing guitar with him. He just walked up on cue and played his part and walked off.
He is using a midi pick-up on his guitar, you can see it near the bridge. That is connected to the large pedal to the left of the screen. I'm forgetting the model but I believe it is a Roland
I think he pivoted to doing more disheveled cuss stuff but there is one track uploaded to bandcamp under "Acid Fab". the other tracks under that moniker are mostly holiday jokes or ringtones lol. plug for @nickreinharthaharighton4072 to record some more aphex sounds!
Nick Reinhart will probably be the only person to ever get tendinitis in the ankle from guitar playing
This one leaves me speechless every time.
I've never seen a man so in need of an octopus transplant in all my life...
the end is literally built into the beginning
Playing a song from the score of my favorite movie. Too to two cool

Live performance you saw? What's the alias for the project? I'm hoping I can find a recorded show online.

I feel like Nick could interact with aliens.........or machines.......or anything between these !
can you post a link to the tab ?
Holy shit what’s that piano pedal used at the end??

I belive a Roland Gr-33 guitar synth or something like that, he shows it off in his rig rundown. Really good sounding synth and relatively cheap too.
Nick and Nels cline should have a band together
They do
which did nick hear first, piano one or paper bag
The ghost fax pedal is excellent
What is the pedal he is using for the drum sounds?
Does Nick have solo albums in this vein?

I'm pretty sure it's the face from drugs/complex album cover.
Fr exactly what I was thinking

"Autistic adult male stimming in friend's living room."
Astounding
This was hard to get into at first... but it's worth the patience need to get through.
