A great folk tune - going to have to get some Hutsul folk tunes when I go to Ukraine this year. Also loved the mad Pagan Christmas costumes - reminiscent of the Wicker Man!

The costuming is brilliant all the way through this film. The dancing, not so much. Hutsul dance is the most complex of all the Balkan dances. This scene
merely shows off the wonderful costuming, but I guess it would have been hard to show the complexity of the dances. The music is amazing and authentic. I understand that they used the Ukrainian language-the Hutsul dialect. Thanks to Parajanov for showing us the Hutsuls and their culture.
