Looks really cool, but you should have used an airbrush and Matt or satin black to paint the top covers. To get a more smooth finish. Also, I’m pretty sure the reason why HT made the wheels lighting that way is because that way you can see light in the main way people will display the car. Other way you will not see any light unless you made a custom base and display it low, seeing only the floor glow. About the hover system hinge, it’s really a shame and a concerning weak point to have in mind for customers. You are helping a lot with that.

Bro, that had me cracking up as well. How he kept pushing that "Temperature" theory! I guess the collectors in 'cold" states are screwed! It's a good thing mine was shipped in a temperature-controlled container ship with armed guards in heating suits and placed into a Temperature controlled Fed Ex truck and sent to me on a warm day! 🤣🤣🤣
Great job with the mods! Certainly more screen-accurate. I literally just returned mine today. Fingers crossed for a speedy turnaround from Sideshow. It was heart-wrenching having to disassemble and re-box it 😞

Love the brighter lights, but not sure about the gorilla glue all over the struts. From what others have said, simply loosening the screw in the corner relieves all the tension and any risk of breaking them.
Glad your new one is ok. But I'm pretty sure you trying to roll your first one is what caused the break. The lights are done by wire which can only twist a little bit before causing resistance and place torquing force on the hinges which stressed the plastic and fractured it. They should have had a warning label to not roll, but I presume it couldn't in the first place based on the complexity of lighting and flight mode of the wheels.
HT definitely missed a trick with the lighting on the wheels. However, even though there’s some cool ideas here, the lighting mods are not for me and feel somewhat unnecessary.
Okay, I will admit that I love your Enginuity! From a fellow collector and model builder, you did a hell of a job! I still think that you are a bit rough. Lol. You really dig right in there. Theory: Back the screws out on the hover assembly. One on each side on the 'receiving side'. Hot toys torqued down on them to tightly, Thats what I found caused the stress lines. I backed them out four turns. Seemed to help.
The ship had sailed by the time the recommend advice on loosening the screws. The extra thin layer of gorilla glue with a flat black paint did the job. My latest mod the rear thrusters were a bit more complex but overall came out as intended.😁
Danoby, a little off topic from this video... but is there a preferred fix for figures when the skin sort of splits? My Ted from the Blitzway Bill & Ted has some rips on the skin sleeve at the elbow. Or is my best option to just take his jacket off his waist and put it back on to cover the arms. This was a great video by the way!

From what I’ve seen they are hyper focused on getting rid of dead stock but ignoring deals on things released post late 2022. Do you think they’ll cave if those figures sit long as well? Or do you think they’ll hold stead fast?
Looking at how the wheels are assembled/wired for light, does spinning the wheels (i.e. rolling the car) actually twist up the wire or is the part the light strip is attached to somehow fixed while the wheel spins around it? Do we have to be worried about rolling the wheels?
Hey there! I just got one of these a few weeks ago! Do you think it would be difficult to mod the power switch so it's always on via USB? I'd like to connect the usb power to a standard smart plug so it will turn on and off via HomeKit. I can get it to turn off, but the power button has to be pressed twice to get all the lights on. Thanks! Love the mods you have done so far (and the stand is much better I think than the included angled one).
Difficult yes, you'd need to hack it through a backdoor to keep it on all the time. Say the wheel light, send power through any of the wheel lights and it'll stay on and off as desired.
@@Danoby2 Thanks for the quick reply! hmm - maybe already past my skill level? :) I thought I could unscrew the the plate over the switch and somehow just bypass the switch completely so it was always on. I was using the standard USB power jack underneath.

I know you’ve answered others that a friend made it but, um, can I get his or her email?! I’d like a stand to display mine flat the way you did in the video rather than on an angle (plus I’m not sure I trust the stand that comes with it!)

You do know Hot Toys included an acrylic base that tips the Delorean on the side to show vehicle underneath.👀

Gorilla Glue was meant for longevity, years down the road how will the struts behave. We simply just don't know. Thanks for watching.😬

i don't think you have to do all this redesign, rejigging and rebuild to jazz inc items. they seem to arrive in a finished state........
