- Yesterday, OpenAI released Sora with many examples. Sam Altman on X released brand new Sora examples based on prompts from Twitter/X users.
According to OpenAI Sora is, "... an AI model that can create realistic and imaginative scenes from text instructions." and can "generate videos up to a minute long while maintaining visual quality and adherence to the user’s prompt."

It seems to be able to generate, identify, and track, individual elements on their own, AND maintain coherent and logical harmony of motion and movement between those individual elements as they interact with other elements. WILD.

Recently I've read that OpenAI is going to use ElevenLabs tools to generate the SFX for the Sora generated videos. There were some Sora outputs in the article with a generated audio.

Millions of people may be able to focus on more pressing matters.. Including more access to cool ass art projects using these tools... just remember how many people sell labor full time to do menial tasks like data entry. People have more to offer

These examples are actually less impressive than the cherry picked ones OpenAI put on their website.
it’s not scary at all because firstly AI art and AI movies will have less value than original human made content. Just like real wood tables are worth more than plastic ones. Secondly, those who will succeed in this industry will be movie makers, image makers, graphic artists, and musicians and authors, but those who will succeed will be those who know how to use natural languageto command the sophisticated content in order to achieve the desired results. Which means you have to be a master of expression and natural language. Spellcaster so to speak. The art and the science is in the prompt and so is the genius and the originality, and the successful result. That’s what natural language control sophisticated applications a d imtegrated modules in the age of AI means. Like guardians of the Galaxy you just say to your spaceship “hey Maria, plot a course to the nearest supernova and park at a safe distance three hours before the event so that I can watch it. “

Why is this "scary" lol? Its interesting tech but far from developed or useful
It’s scary bc look at how advanced it’s gotten after just a couple months, 2 years ago this was nothing but imagination or surrealistic. It’s scary how real it looks and how consistent it is with things like textures, movements, patterns, and shadows, not so much physics yet but it’s getting there. The scary part is something will definitely go wrong with this kind of technology, a lot of deep faked videos, propaganda, and this could affect people badly if accounted for something they didn’t do, or even things like the elections, there has been videos of Trump and Biden talking about stuff they never said, and u fr cannot tell them apart

@@feedthemtopigsthe problem will be that as this technology grows, it will be impossible to differentiate between real videos. while that is cool in theory, it can not only put people out of the workforce(animators, filmmakers, artists, songwriters, etc), but it can be used to defame and slander people. imagine an incredibly advanced and realistic deepfake of you doing some heinous crime. it seems silly to worry about, but when the end goal is to "create anything from a prompt" it IS possible and it IS scary.
