The moment Cap grabbed Mjolnir, the whole theater blew up so hard. I could literally still hear it in my imagination.
Why in the fuck would you want to hear idiots cheering over the actual movie?
Thor and Cap's mutual respect is something to cherish. Cap's smile when Thor arrives in Wakanda, with his power restored and just in the nick of time, and Thor's pride when Cap picks up Mjolnir is beautifully captured in the big screen. The smallest details often makes a trivial story extraordinary.

Tony: "The only thing special about you came out of a bottle."

He was able to lift it in the Ultron comedy scene but CHOSE not to.

To those who say there’s an inconsistency with Steve summoning lightning because he can only lift the hammer, there is no inconsistency. I’m glad that, in the end, respect was paid to the Big Three of the Avengers.
Tony in Infinity War held his own against Thanos and earned his respect. Tony’s armor even withstood a powerful blast from the Power Stone, the same Power Stone that knocked out Captain Marvel and effectively destroyed a moon.
Thor in Infinity War landed a solid wound on Thanos even with all the stones, and earned Thanos’ acknowledgement that Thor had the power to kill him then and there.
Steve in Endgame fought so well that Thanos was actually angered and wrathful. It’s kinda amazing how Thanos put more visual effort and force into his blows against Cap and his shield then he did against Hulk.
It’s the fact that a human shouldn’t have been giving him that kind of trouble. Thanos was like “Alright fuck this. Time to end that little shit.”

It’s awesome to see Cap wield actual power, since he only really has super human reflexes.
Most super heroes rely on brute strength, a suit, or some super ability, but don’t have much technique to them. Cap has the reflexes and the technique to make any magical weapon dance as if he’s practiced it for 10,000 hours.
mcu cap has low level super human strength and can lift a little over a ton. So it isnt just super human reflexes but strength, agility, healing and senses...
@@teovu5557 nah, that isn't consistent, even in the comics. They officially removed it after decades of it being in and out. His only powers are never building up fatigue poisons, and his body being at optimum human capacity at all times. He NEVER had a healing factor, enhanced agility, or enhanced senses. I've been reading the comics since the 60s.
@@mlsanders4800 my comment is talking about MCU Captain America not 616 comic Cap. Can you read?
Also MCU Captain is loosely based on 1609 ultimate comics Captain America where his powers are super human unlike 616 where he's just peak human.
1609 Captain America powers-
Like his Earth-616 counterpart, Ultimate Captain America underwent the super soldier procedure which turned him into America's first super soldier. Unlike his Earth 616 counterpart, however, Ultimate Captain America's physical attributes have been augmented to superhuman, rather than peak human, levels. On a number of occasions characters have described his strength as enhanced (Nick Fury described him as being able to bench press a Toyota). He has been shown bending steel with his bare hands, catching a tree heavy enough to crush a Jeep. He is also shown jumping large distances, and the Ultimate Red Skull, when he was fourteen and scientists said he had abilities comparable to his father, is shown running alongside a motorcycle.
Captain America is also shown to have fast healing while nowhere near as powerful as Wolverine and Sabretooth's, in "Blade vs the Ultimates" a remembrance by Cap shows scientists saying he can heal gunshots and knife wounds in hours. Cap himself in Ultimates volume 1 says he should be able to heal broken bones in about a day or two.
MCU movie cap is similar-
As a Super Soldier, Steve Rogers possesses superhuman abilities, such as inhuman intelligence, strength, speed, durability, agility, stamina, dexterity, and reflexes, as well as a healing factor that prevents him from being drunk. The serum metabolized and enhanced all of Steve's natural anatomical abilities well beyond even the peak of human potential, pushing into the middle levels of superhuman condition. It transformed a frail and sickly Steve into the "perfect" specimen of human development and conditioning. Although the SSS has definite limits, even without training Rogers' physiology surpasses that of any enhanced human. Rogers maintains an overall healthy lifestyle including a regular exercise regimen and a balanced diet. This appears to have increased his capabilities further, much like how it increases strength in non-enhanced humans.
Only 616 mainline comics Captain America he has zero superhuman powers and is just peak humans all across the board.
@@mlsanders4800 also not building up fatigue toxins is incorrect and common misconception often cited In forums
Comic book Cap's body removes and lessens the build up of fatigue toxics allowing him to fight for over an hour without tiring......he is not immune to fatigue and can tire after exerting him self for over an hour straight. Remember comic 616 cap is peak human not super human only movie Cap and Ultimate 1609 comic Cap is.
And you saying comic 616 cap never had enhanced agily or senses just killed any creditable you had. Lmao
You are confusing super human agility like Spiderman's or superhuman hearing etc like daredevil .....cap indeed has enhanced agility and senses(sight, hearing, memory etc etc) it's all at peak human levels which is Enhanced by the super soldier serum just not super human.

the fact that people in the future will never know what it was like seeing this in theaters back in 2019 is just sad.

@@DarkFactory that's the point though. You can either move ot or you can't. Idk about the comics, but the MCU made it clear. There is no half ass worthy. The facts that the hammer budged any meant Cap was worthy, but part of what made his so worthy is that he would act as if he wasn't.

He broke the shield, but not the man. 💪
He was broken. He got bailed out by his teammates
The very fact Captain America gave Thanos the most fight up to this point of the MCU says a lot of his power as a warrior. While most of his attacks looking for his head, he made made Thanos back off and even knocked him down, ALMOST single handedly killing him.
Man Cap must've known back in AoU that he could lift the hammer, otherwise why would he even try to here. My man really kept it a secret all this time just for his buddy Thor. Not a perfect soldier, but a good man.
Yep. That was Cap being a noble hero, he didn't want to take Thor's heirloom weapon, nor humiliate him. Classic Captain America. It's the main reason I didn't like This movie, it takes the Chris Evans Captain America out of the Marvel movieverse. It was also a crap move, it makes Capt less heroic. Why? he doesn't save Bucky from being the Winter Soldier, he doesn't save his friend, Iron Man's father, he doesn't stop Hydra from being Shield, he doesn't warn of the attack by Loki nor of the attack on New York. Also, it destroys the TV show Agent Carter, those events can't happen now, it changes the Winter Soldier events as well, which changes Civil War as well. The people who came up with the Captain America happily ever after with Peggy Carter didn't think it through, or they wouldn't have done it, it would have been better for Captain America to die at the hands of Thanos than that. Really, all they did was create an alternate timeline from the one where Thanos still won.
@@jonathancummings6400 Different time lines dude. Him doing any of that wouldn’t have changed anything in his own timeline, and going into one with another cap and doing any of that would have caused mass confusion in the Avengers as to why there were 2 Caps, and how this older one travelled through time, definitely warranting the TVA to intervene as he would be a variant trying to disturb the sacred timeline.
Infinite realities, and infinite timelines so 100% what you said did happen in some timeline, but was reset by TVA. They introduced multiverse theory into canon in endgame and let them tie together Caps story (imo) successfully. I also prefer to think he didn’t know he could fully lift it in AoU and as a last attempt to save 50% of all life in the universe, he decided to try again. Makes the scene more heroic and shows how he knows the odds are insanely stacked against them, so he takes the most ludicrous route and tries the impossible, and succeeds. Showing he is worthy.
(Just how I choose to view it as it fits in my head better)
@@jonathancummings6400 you clearly don't know the consequences of changing the past
@@oogaboogaa21 Well, the heroes show a double standard here. They didn't care that Thanos seemed fated to win. They just wanted to undo what he did no matter the cost. Captain America didn't care about that when he remained behind to be with Peggy. It was all unheroic, and SELFISH. They were no better than Thanos. Actually in the real world, Thanos is right. If this world's human population grows too large, a mass extinction, which may carry humans away too is inevitable. Half of the current around 8 billion people are still too many to stop the encroachment on the natural world. Things were becoming problematic when the world's population was only 5 billion, I know, I was alive then. In the 1990's I wrote a paper in College about the Overpopulation problem when the population was only 5.8 billion.
@@jonathancummings6400 him doing those things wouldn't have changed anything. That's not how time travel works in the mcu

@@carterm873 Hes good by divinely standards. Sure he's got his dark moments, but it's only because he's still human. Even Thor himself had his dark moments and he's the primary wielder of mjolnir, and a demigod/deity.

The awesome thing about this scene is that when you first see "The Big Three" on camera the first time, each of their tactics were used in this scene as well. For example, when Thor tried to attack Iron Man with lightning and Iron man absorbed it. So in this scene with them fighting together, they do the exact same thing.
Likewise, when Thor "brings the hammer down" on Cap, it creates a shockwave on Caps shield. And in this scene, Cap used that same exact move against Thanos.
I don't know if the directors did that intentionally, but you can see that they each used the same tactics that were used in the very first Avengers film that you see them together on the screen at the same time. Pretty neat call back.
I just realized the shockwave part though. I'd never recall it if you aint mentioning it
They spend a month or so together in a secret location and talk through their scripts day in and day out rewatch previous movies and analyze every word used so in my opinion it was all on purpose. Also notice how captain used a full world of warcraft paladin tank rotation on Thanos. I know it is because that's what I played for a decade. It's literally a full paladin rotation. It just has a Marvel skin and I am not not amused. This fight scene was bonkers on theaters, we crowd surfed my dog, his name is captain america lmao

@Felipe Gomes That blade he holds was possibly made by the eitri. (Dwarf Giants)
Everything in a movie is analyzed and more than likely on purpose.
Obviously Cap has been doing a lot of mental image training since Age of Ultron. Those movesets didn’t just came out of a whim
Ok is not a good thing for me but I'm sure it will be a great time and I will
It's a good possibility that the high tech, nigh magic hammer can imbue those into the wielders it chooses.
Did you notice? They were based on tricks he already did with Thor before or things he did with the shield... plus, the way he brought down lightning is one of Thor's classic moves...
Not it's called an asspull
He can never be better than Thor
The moment Cap grabbed Mjolnir, the whole theater blew up so hard. I could literally still hear it in my imagination.
I love how quickly this shows Thanos can assess a new threat and adapt tactics. Previously his bigger weapon gave him the advantage if he stayed at medium range, which forces Cap to risk getting hit to close the distance, and should he throw the shield and Thanos successfully deflects it away, then cap is disarmed. But once Cap has both the hammer and the shield, AND the lightning, he can have a completely relentless barrage by interchanging between close and long range attacks. Thanos realises the only way to break Cap's rhythm is to get in his face, despite that making his bigger weapon less effective in general. His only option was to limit Cap's offense because defence was no longer an option.
The moment that Cap lifted the hammer was incredible. And he knew the ways to use it. It's awesome. 👍
