I never did either, but sooo many of them still have old inventory left over from the 80's, 90's and soemtimes even 70's! Last year my friend Nolan and I found some stuff from 1983 that was sold in store when it used to be a Hallmark store. This works for Thanksgiving, Christmas and the other Holidays too. Totally check out some near you and see what you can find!
@Frizzurd is he married? Imagine a lady sitting across him at the dinner table.. " how's the food hun?" Matt awkwardly looks around staring blankly at nothing lol
@@Utubesuxmycock I just heard him say something about a girlfriend on his podcast with Jay. That could have been a joke, but whatever. Doesn't really matter to me either way.
Your Halloween countdown has gone form being a novelty to a literal tradition for me. Thanks for what you do every year you truly are becoming one of the reasons for the season.
Your videos are entertaining, funny, and nostalgic. But most importantly, they have a poignant message. I’m going to find the nearest old card store and make the drive ASAP. Can’t wait for your next video.
Is it me, or has a lot of stores not put out as much Halloween/Fall related stuff as they have in previous years? I wish we had some old card stores around here, but sadly we do not. Old Halloween stuff is always an amazing thing to find.
@4:45 😂 I love all your finds. I'm addicted to vintage Halloween. Goodwill Outlets are a great place to find vintage decor. I have an old jointed scarecrow in the same style as your skeleton. Thanks for sharing!
MAN! I love when you go to decrepit old stores and find ancient goodies! Those have been some of my favorite X-E/DD articles over the years! Definitely inspired that hobby of mine ;)
This is incredible. I live in the suburbs just north of LA. And I would never have the luck you did finding this stuff. We don’t have mom and pop card shops let alone major chain card shops anymore. Rent has become to high in the last 20 years so most retail around here is big box or too new to have old stock. Have always loved your content. I share the same interest and goofy passion for almost any ephemera. Cheers
You have a serious Dr. Evil vibe going on with your mannerisms in your videos. It really makes them great. I still have that exact articulated skeleton! I can’t pinpoint exactly when I got it, but I know it was sometime in the very early 90’s.
Damn I want those amscan GitD heads. I have the small GitD 3pacs that hang from foil streamers (one 3 pac each design) and the full size would be great to add...sigh... And holy shite, that skeleton! Damn it pays to live in the largest metropolitan area in the US. My favourite decorations are the paper ones, and some are older than I am, but I use them every year. It's sad I cannot find them in my area (almost ever) anymore. I have 2 of that grim reaper. One from before I was born, and one from a reprint that I got a decade ago. It was part of a set, of which that Frank belonged. There is a werewolf in that design set that I still cannot find, but see in movies (with the frank, grim, drac, etc). Got that massive Black light (oh yeah, man, light it up) Jack o Lantern.
Unfortunately, we don't have any mom 'n' pop greeting card or party supply stores in my area. We don't even have a Hallmark store anymore. Party City is all we have.
I have that jointed skeleton! There used to be a huge dollar store nearby, which had great Halloween stuff, even tons of public domain double feature horror dvds before they all ended up on youTube. The store also had lots of vibrantly printed Hindu and Catholic stuff and weird tacky shit.
Not too many of those stores where I live. I did find some cool stuff at Dollar General the other day though. Dollar Tree usually has a prime stuff too.
I don't know if y'all have firework stores up there but some of ours out here in Indiana turn into Fireworks/Halloween stores in the fall. There's one near me that has a large Halloween section and a lot of it seems pretty old. I'm never in there any other part of the year to know what it looks like then, but I feel like they leave the Halloween items that doesn't sell that year right where they are and just cover them up or block the area or something lol. It seems like I see the same things in the same exact place as last year.
Is this a trick you could do at any time of the year, or only around Halloween time? What I'm asking is, will these 'mom and pop card stores' have their old-school Halloween content on sale ALL YEAR, or will they ONLY bring it back out for Halloween time?
Huh.... now that you mention it, I think youre right. I moved from the east coast to the west coast, and nothing is like that out here. Theres too many gas station convenient stores on the west coast that make the card stores kind of pointless.
Matt.. if you have extras, could you somehow sell me a grim Reaper. im gonna check my local party store. but i just remembered a lot of decorations that i want to find now..cool channel man PEACE!
Or at least where I live not like CVS or Walgreens or something but just like the local corner family-run for a hundred years drugstore or I guess most places call them local pharmacist
If a teacher had that Jointed skeleton hanging from their door, the class Halloween party in that room was gonna be Bangers.
I love finding vintage Halloween stuff and never thought to look in the old card stores. And I agree, it’s all about the adventure! Thank you!

I look forward to your countdown and videos every year. Thank you for keeping the Halloween spirit alive!
Some of the artwork on those die-cuts are just fantastic. I almost wish there was a book of these things.
This remains my favorite video on UA-cam.
OMG I just inherited that same skeleton with the conductors watch in his ribs from my grandparents!!! Its amazing
Those Goosebumps invitations are great but damn that slippery cellophane! Love all these retro decorations!
I'm expecting that you'll start a Halloween museum at some point.
Right like I wonder how much stuff he has, its got to be everywhere in his place
@Frizzurd is he married? Imagine a lady sitting across him at the dinner table.. " how's the food hun?" Matt awkwardly looks around staring blankly at nothing lol
@@natalie8212 He has a significant other for sure. I don't know if it's just girlfriend or wife though.
@@Utubesuxmycock I just heard him say something about a girlfriend on his podcast with Jay. That could have been a joke, but whatever. Doesn't really matter to me either way.
Oh man, I had that skeleton back in the late eighties or early nineties. A damn good find.
Your Halloween countdown has gone form being a novelty to a literal tradition for me. Thanks for what you do every year you truly are becoming one of the reasons for the season.
Growing up we had a paper skeleton just like that, with a pocket watch and all, that is a great find!
Your right! The chase to find cool Halloween stuff is what it is all about. Thanks for sharing!
I love the awkward glances 😂
That Dracula cape is amazing, I love the packaging
These also seem to be the only stores who still have candy cigarettes
Your videos are entertaining, funny, and nostalgic. But most importantly, they have a poignant message. I’m going to find the nearest old card store and make the drive ASAP. Can’t wait for your next video.
Also, I'm pretty sure we had that jointed skeleton when I was growing up!!!! I need it!
We had a jointed skeleton like that when I was growing up in the 80s! He greeted trick or treaters on our front door!
Is it me, or has a lot of stores not put out as much Halloween/Fall related stuff as they have in previous years?

I wanna go on these little adventures with you! Me and my sister do this stuff all the time! It's so great to know we're not alone!
You've reminded me about a Halloween themed colouring-in book, that I had in the early '80s. I'll have to see if I can find a vintage copy on eBay.
That jointed skeleton is hell of a piece, I'm jealous.

Appreciate every video u do they r as scarce as retro Halloween stores lol.... #trashbagbunch

Always good to see a reference to Vigo the Carpathian
Love it! Please Keep’em coming Matt!
We used to put diecut turkeys and pumpkins on the windows and doors for thanksgiving. I'm sure they are in a drawer somewhere still.
Dracula child cape...love albino pumpkin ..oh cool skeleton.. My birthday is tomorrow so I always loved Halloween. Have fun , I'm sure you will.
Utterly incredible finds, thank you for sharing
I'm jealous of the Goosebumps cards!
Inspiration to drive in circles? Ain't that a metaphor for life.

Great video, we have 99. Cent stores that sell cool Halloween stuff here in NYC, great podcast also. 👍
Cool haul
Excellent addition to an already amazing 2018 season!!
Rinky-dink stores with a high fire hazard:Halloween ratio are goldmines!
Those stores are the best
Love your videos, I seriously can’t stop watching them!

You deadpan expressions make me LOL. :0
This might be one of your BEST "Halloween Junk" Hauls EVER! My goodness so much awesomeness!!! GREAT VIDEO also..."two birds...yanno" LOL
I love your videos man!

Very cool interesting items he has found 👍
What's the music used in the video? Would love to use for this forthcoming Halloween season. Thanks!
This is fantastic!
Nice haul.
I remember those as a kid.
Let the purchasing begin Matt! (Target is ready, and Spirit is open 🎃)
Lol I love the awkward unedited clips
Great video! You inspired me to go out this season in search!
I had that Skelleton!

A lot of the old hometown drug stores have stuff like that too
in the UK when they can't sell things they just 'liquidate' it aka they just bury it in some hole somewhere :(
Two birds 😂
Another great vid as always!
Oooooo look really cool
Thats amazing!
Your the best. More videos please!
I used to have a skeleton like that
You might like my latest videos, we went crazy with Halloween stuff. Manage to score an old Spirit Ball!
Get two birds stoned at once
New subscriber here!!🎃
Considering how dangerous Willy Wonka’s factory turned out to be, I say your search is better and mire fruitful.
Yes

Delco Drugs, Eltingville represent!
You said YUGE! ☺️🎃
Love when i find 90s cartoon shit at the dollar store
Love ya dino
Sadly in New York these are all just about gone. I remember my neighborhood of Little Italy In The Bronx had one on every block.
Call me crazy, but this has to be an east coast thing. I can't think of a single "card store" in California, or Washington, that isn't just a florist.
Huh.... now that you mention it, I think youre right. I moved from the east coast to the west coast, and nothing is like that out here. Theres too many gas station convenient stores on the west coast that make the card stores kind of pointless.
I FUCKIN LOVE HALLOWEEN glad I found your channel!
Matt.. if you have extras, could you somehow sell me a grim Reaper. im gonna check my local party store. but i just remembered a lot of decorations that i want to find now..cool channel man PEACE!
if only louisville had any of these left....XD
There is something so weirdly sexy about this guy.
Awesome
Can you come to my Halloween party in October?
I think you might have the awesomest life, ever. xoxo
Large marge sent me

Your eyes are much prettier and hair much greasier than I expected.
❤❤❤❤
Im really upset. Where are you? Halloween is not the same...
So Matt smokes weed, huh?
I think he smokes pumpkin spice
