FAQ - Wharfedale Elysian explained by Peter Comeau

The Wharfedale Elysian series sits at the very top of the tree at Wharfedale as their reference series. The price point might come as a suprise to some, as Wharfedale has been known as the "King of price-competitive Hi-Fi" and high-end speakers at this level hasn't been present in Wharfedales line-up for some years. However, looking at Wharfedales history, as we learn from Peter, the strange part is really that Wharfedale didn't have anything at this space.

I like Mr Comeau’s laid back, polite and amiable demeanor, and I like his speaker designs even more. The Elysian series doesn’t get anywhere near the attention it deserves in Hi Fi circles. Good on you for doing your part to promote it!

Just got a pair of 2’s and the center and am floored. Replaced Bowers 702 signature and really outshines them for my tastes.

I have the Elysian 4 and they are gorgeous and sound incredible. However, I'm not too impressed with customer service. I actually had to contact McIntosh in order to get information regarding speaker/amplifier compatibility. Two engineers from McIntosh responded within 3 days, but Wharfedale never responded.
