I USED TO LISTEN EVERY NIGHT BEFORE GOING TO BED AND I LOVED HIS SONGS,EVEN THOUGH MY ENGLISH WAS LIMITED AT 8 YEARS OLD.,MY FIRST LANGUAGE WAS SPANISH,BUT I LOVED HIS MUSIC . Now I listen to music in both languages Fats Domino me abrió la puerta al música y idioma de ingles.gracias .Thank you my you rest in peace with the angels of heaven playing Rock and Roll and R ythem and blues and Mariachi!
When I was a little girl…and I did live by the railroad tracks…we lived in big house, but it was old. My Ukraine grandfather lived with us. I was only child. My best bud was my grandfather, my record player, records my dad got me on his way home from working double shifts…my 2 dogs…and my imaginary friends, and my dream of meeting Antoine Domino. Had all his records…and some other records. My grandfather liked this song, Blueberry Hill and Walk-in To New Orleans. The other records (I don’t recall exactly what songs I liked) but I loved Fats….and as years passed, I got so into Motown and soul more and more. Love this man. Love his music. Such talent. I’m white…and loved this music. Any black group that sang…I usually loved their records. But not as much as Fats. He started rock and roll, blues, jazz and soul. I’m 76 yrs old now and still listen to his songs….and to the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, David Ruffin, Sam and Dave, James Brown, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, the Shirelles, Patti LaBelle, Tina turner, Smoky Robinson, etc…..that was music. Soul…you could feel the music inside of you through and through. Fond memories float into my mind of my sweet, kind, Ukraine grandfather, sitting there with his cane, as he listened to this song and mostly he loved when I played Blueberry Hill and I sang to him with the record playing. Ahhhhhhh. To go back…..In time for maybe 4 or 5 hours…..or stay there…and not get any older. I felt safe, happy, and my dad and grandfather protected me from my stern mom and very stern grandmother. Lost my grandfather when I was in 2nd grade….my dad when I was 16 yrs old (heart disease in whole family). Why I’m still here I don’t understand. But I took care of my mom, my children (single parent due to drugs that my ex took…that I knew nothing about…trying to help him….3times I took my ex back after he had a psychotic breakdown. 4th time he was out. I had my girls to raise and love and they were kind of afraid of him. Wasn’t easy…but I did it…cleaned and sold used appliances for 2/3 years. Not one cent of child support from their dad. They actually were kind of afraid of him. He could only have supervised visits with them. He never changed. Ever. 13 yrs ago my youngest daughter passed away suddenly (like my dad and my dad’s mom) 13 yrs ago (heart valves clogged). Her ex was weird. I raised my grandchildren while working a full time job by this time. It was crazy and difficult and I was grieving. But sometimes when we’re coping with heartache, and someone (my grandchildren … my older daughter…and my pets), all needed help to deal with this sudden unexpected loss. They were with me a lot…the grandchildren and the many animals I cared for …. So i knew I had to somehow hold myself together and care for those who were unable to care for themselves. I love my family deeply. Grandkids all grown up..some relocated to get away from their dad…my older daughter my best friend…only friend. With age, comes auto immune issues, weird stuff, nerve pain, severe spinal stenosis, anemia (I’m tiny..don’t eat much), thyroid hyper, all these viruses popping up that we never heard of when I was a child. Love you, Antoine. RIP. 🙏🏻🫶💥❤️ My grandkids all have their own families and moved far away from their dad. He always was a bit narcissistic, delusional, immature and irresponsible. And my grandkids all know it. They’re happy..but I miss seeing them and my 3 new great grand babies. Ok..Sorry for all the rambling. The point is…I now have 2 sickly stray cats living with me….never remarried….no way Jose. I’m old, settled in my ways…and spend a lot of time alone trying to dust and clean my teensy tiny home. I like peace and quiet. Only children get used to that I think. It feels comfortable. Peaceful. But, I gotta say….after my older daughter visited me for 2 hours, she left (she works 2 jobs)…gave my cats their meds…fresh water…put dry kibble in the feral cats bowl on deck (all 7 cats tnrd), and leave them some fresh clean water . Than, I just get into my pjs and put Fats Domino on and listen to him sing all these songs I heard him sing so very very long ago. Antoine Fats Domino: I could listen to you every day….and I automatically feel better and forget about all the other crap going on. Don’t watch the news…stay off social media….and, instead, sit, close your eyes, put Fats on……and feel the thrill from every one of his songs. ✌🏻🫶🙏🏻💫❤️💥👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
"Red Sails In The Sunset" is also such a beautiful track. it makes you feel very melancholic. Indeed , the "news" only brings you down . I'm so thankful to have UA-cam. Who would've thought that we as pensioners could see all the artists we loved so much at the click of a button. It makes old age somewhat bearable. Thanks for your lovely recollections . 👍🏻💙
@@PAULLONDEN Omg. Tab hunter. I had that 45 also. I loved listening to music while rocking chair in my teensy rocking chair. I did like that song too. It boggles my mind…now that I’ll be 76 yrs old in 3 months…of how easy life seemed to be back then. I had good grades…which made my mom happy…and my dad and grandfather were sweet, kind, hard workers and barely ever around. My mother, seemed to ‘soften’ as she grew older. Just like my grandmother. Barely spent any time with me…but was a different woman by the time my girls were born, new subscriber here now. Thanx.
