This is testament to the greatness of Springsteen. This is great. But he had the ability to make it more than great. He made it epic. Legendary. Few could or would do this. Thanks

On this night of Thanksgiving of 2013, I am thankful for my favorite song in the history of music that was born on February 5, 1975 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Here is the footage of the song from two nights later in Chester, PA. Bruce had not yet seen the poster for Robert Mitchum's movie, Thunder Road, in the lobby of a New Jersey theatre. However, he was ready to trade in his wings for some wheels!

It does not get any better than "Thunder Road" as an infant when the song was known as "Wings for Wheels." The innocence of Bruce cannot be denied, and he was able to lay the stars at our feet with this particular song. The E Street Band features a female violinist (Suki Lahav) nearly twelve years before John Loser Menstrualcramp would add Lisa Germano to his band on the fiddle; his band was also lacking these other musicians: Roy Bittan, Clarence Clemons, Danny Federici, Garry Tallent, and Max Weinberg.
