  • The secondary idol of ancient pagan religion was Astoreth (also known as Ishtar or Astarte), the consort of Ba’al.
    Jesus refers to this entity as ‘Jezebel’ (alluding to the Sidonian princess married to Ahab, one of the kings of Israel in the Old Testament).
    Jesus describes the tactics of this spirit, which tries to emasculate men and defeminise women, thus making way for the downfall of the individual, the family and of society.
    Every demonic lie is to try to stop people from seeing who Jesus is and what He’s doing.
    A lie is a perverted truth - so if we identify the lies, we can use them to recognise and highlight the truth even more clearly.
