    teaching=「教えている」は現在進行形の動詞ですが、「I have experience私は経験がある」は過去の事なので、「教えた」に変化するようです。

    I'm also an intermediate speaker! I struggle with grammar in all my studied languages. Right now I'm mainly studying Russian but I mean to polish my Spanish, French, and Japanese eventually. I've thought about making foreign language videos but I worry about how wrong I'd speak, I don't want to insult someone by being terrible at their language. 😭

      I studied Korean in university and did my junior year and post graduate in Seoul. I've now been living in Hong Kong working in finance for over twenty years primarily off the back of my language capabilities. Stick with it, it will pay dividends.

      @@Callmekit_485 Besides, Korea is an absolutely amazing place and Koreans are some of the best people on earth. In my day (90s) is was near impossible to study Korean in the States as everyone focused on Japan and China. Perhaps these days it's easier and there is more interest, but I guarantee it will lead to great things in your life. Even if it's making new friends or impressing the folks at the local Korean restaurant. Best of luck!

    As someone that has spoken Japanese their whole life, I always struggled to explain 「を」to non-Japanese speakers. Especially, when we talk, we drop を at times. Such as 「おい、これ はよ方つけろ❗」

      If you just want to chat to people, and have conversations socially, in bars etc. it's a very simple, fun language. If you want to get a good job and learn to read and write, it's quite hard. Answer comes from experience :(

      You would either say "I have experience teaching English" or if you want to refer to it as something you did a long time ago, you would say "I have taught english in the past"

    interested in learning, and have tried, but like...........It just doesn't stick, I think my brain is made of teflon, at least the extra-language learning part lol
    A 31 in Latin for a whole semester...and having been to Guatemala twice in high school, taken a Spanish class in school multiple times, and still can barely get through a greeting without searching in the ether for the right response...
    Duolingo and Memrise, for Japanese, random youtube tutorials and websites/flashcards etc... nope.... I think I probably just haven't discovered a good enough reason to, there's no sense of urgency in me to do so I suppose

      I am a native Spanish speaker and I learned English and forgotten my native tongue by watching a lot of TV in subtitles. British subtitles somehow as I have a bad habit of writing grey and colour. My recommendation is to learn enough to read a language and then just to watch a lot of TV with subtitles of the language you want to learn and eventually it sticks

      @@razer_the_red_lantern It's the little victories that make the difference. Realize it's not easy and just enjoy the journey. One day you can barely read a sentence without referencing a dictionary, then the next day all of a sudden, you find yourself reading much faster. 練習すればするほど上手くなる!「practice makes perfects」

    @30:50 My instinct is the second one, on review. Use the same grammar as regular Japanese, just polite forms. So "したことがありますか" "したことです." into polite form.

    30:27 "わたしはえいごをおしえたけいけんがあります。" is better. ”わたしはえいごをおしえたことがあります。” is more natural. I hope I can help you!!
