- “Long, Long Time” was written by Gary White and was recorded and released by Linda Ronstadt in 1970.
This is my very first “live” performance on video. My son Dylan O’Connor is the videographer, producer, and director of this project. I owe its creation to Dylan's encouragement and tenacious patience as we worked our way through getting this song recorded. I dedicate this song to Linda Ronstadt, the greatest female singer of all time.

@@lisaj2269 why does it matter where something is discovered so long as it's appreciated ? the creators of the series admitted themselves they'd forgotten about the song before making the show. its also not a zombie story, it's deeply a story about love.
@@jackbrowngaming7007 I’m not criticizing you or the other fans of the zombie show. And not criticizing the show either. Just sad to know this beautiful song was in existence and has somehow fallen away to the point that had that show not come along or had they chosen something else, you and many others may never have found it. And there’s very likely lots and lots more that are the gems sadly falling into a forgotten void unless it hits pop culture - and then for many becomes just a part of that, always just associated and not the amazing thing it is on its own. It’s like classic literature. There’s a reason it should survive and be known, aside from luck of the moment of being associated with or absorbed into or sometimes even revamped/altered dramatically for modern entertainment.
I’m glad you enjoy it. And everyone does… just noting that there’s so much that’s amazing in the past that never gets heard while often mediocre modern stuff becomes ubiquitous, and how much fun and value would exist for so many if it didn’t rely on the luck of present day entertainment to discover such things. One way to discover such things is this channel, for which I’m grateful and have great admiration. There are soooo many amazing, “lost” treasures here. Peruse his video list and listen to a few and I think you will see the point i am trying to make.

I've always loved this song. The fact they put this song in one of the best videogame to series adaptations of a character who never had an in depth back story only makes it that much more amazing and heartbreaking.

Like many here, I'm here because of The Last of Us. And like many have, I recommend checking it out. The series is about more than just an apocalypse and danger and fungal zombies, it's about humanity and the lengths people will go to for the ones they love. Episode 3 is where this song is featured, and the romance they captured between the two male leads of the episode was an incredible bit of representation and was a gorgeous love story, regardless of gender or bias. When I was a child the haunting chords of this song tugged my heart into a sweet sadness I somehow loved. Back then I didn't know the words except the title phrase. It brings back days, a time of innocence, when I longed to have a love like that, where I could declare that to some woman gracious enough to love me. Beautiful song.

Absolutely amazing cover, it's actually now my favorite version of this song! Even though the original is fantastic, there is just something different that comes through your voice and expression. I think the melody and the lyrics of this song just somehow hit harder when it's an older person singing it. The life experiences just shine through and makes the story of the song hit even harder.
