We have been planning to relocate to Orlando for a while and we keep pushing the date back due to our jobs. This video was so helpful. Thank you so much!
Loving these videos. We officially decided to pack up our family and move to Orlando in summer 2023. I can't wait and it's literally all that I think about haha. I have been binging your videos!!
We go to Disney almost every year.but last year we went to Disney springs and sea world . This year will be our first time in universal. We love Disney so much my wife and I went about 20 times.this year will be our 30 th anniversary and my wife’s 50 th birthday
I’m really glad I found you guys Channel. I don’t think you guys are crazy at all. I also currently live in Oklahoma and my family and I absolutely love Disney and go every year. Once I retire from the military in a few years we plan on moving to Orlando as well.
I believe in Family Vacations during School time. Get the homework hit the road. Now our daughter homeschools so I just make sure we work hard up until the Vacation.
This is great that your doing something for yourself; we are in the difficult situation of family whom well; want us close to them. I get it, they want the kids close to visit; but it's your life! And with Covid, we just think you can't wait your whole life just to please other people. High school was really tough on my daughter; to go other places helps to broaden their horizons. It helps that they see there is a world outside of school. So if they are being bullied,or if their friends are maybe not the best influence, it helps to give them a positive environment to also turn to.
All good points. So many people in my FI FB group have talked about the increase in income when they weren't tied to their day jobs. I wish you the very best.
I don’t normally comment but I came across your channel and can’t help to comment because YOU TWO ARE ADORABLE!! Welcome to Florida. I hope it is everything you dreamed it will be.
Im moving to Florida to be closer to Disney, i said to myself why not move closer to Disney, my happy place, i saved for 2yrs, just to make the move, im a single mom and doing this all by myself. Im ready and to start my new journey with my daughter. Prayers for me that i get a job as soon as i move there.
Good luck to you!! You have the best attitude about moving and making this a positive change in your life. You’ve planned and saved and now it’s time to take that leap of faith. Wishing you the very best.
Great that you realized life is too short and decided to enjoy your dreams early. I took retirement at 56 received a pension, saved for 10 years prior, plus having a healthy 401k, sold my home moved from Sothern California and rented a home in Windermere for 1 year
That's such a great goal for me to follow, I live in the Bay Area, CA where the average cost of a home is about 750k to a million. I want to retire in my late 50's and buy a home near Disneyworld! I better start adding more to my 401k.
@@PepperTheCat24 My wife and I left Florida almost 2 years ago traveling to Thailand, Vietnam & Russia but planning on buying a condo near Disney World and a home in the Florida Keys. Adding money to your 401K is great but you need to invest it wisely to have it grow. My company matched me 80% in company stock then in 6 months I sold the company stock and reinvested it into something else that had better growth.
Hi! My husband and I are looking at moving there in about 3 years. We’d do it sooner, but we are wanting to essentially be debt free when we move there. We were wondering if you have any templates for budgeting and cost-savings. We have 3 daughters, so watching you two has been so, so helpful. Any tips you have we’d love! We’re moving from Washington State, so literally from one end of the country, to the other. We want to be as cost efficient as possible. 😃 Thank you for putting these videos up, it gives us hope that things can actually be done and it’s not so scary moving!
Hey there! We do have an excel spreadsheet we’ve been using for years to track all income and expenses by category. Happy to send it to you if you want to shoot us an email at danandleslie@addictedtothemouse.com
Just found your channel and really looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Congrats on your bold decision to retire early and move to our dream vacation destination. Ahhhhh wishing for a return to “normal” so we can resume travel.
So weird to hear that you’re a nursing instructor. My wife I was a nursing instructor for 7/an years at our college near us.then i lost most of my vision from my optic nerve at the age of 48.and I was on my wife’s insurance.then they said to her they can’t bring her back. She has master’s.and will be graduating this fall for her dr..so she looked around in Orlando and celebrating for nursing.it’s big and higher and paying jobs. My wife is the nervous one because of moving away from her family. And there humidity.I used to live in Tampa year’s ago. I’m so ready to get away from our cold and snowy weather here in Pennsylvania.
I have just found your channel and I am so happy that I have! This content is so interesting if not eye opening and I look forward to joining your exciting adventures 😃
Just happened across your channel. How exciting! I would love to one day maybe not move to Orlando, but at least be less tied to a 8-5 job and able to go more often and work on videos for my channel. At least I’m in SE Tennessee, which is definitely closer than Oklahoma. :-)
Please visite Bruges, Belgium. We would love to get inspired by your way of thinking while we navigate you thru our beautiful, very well preseved little town. Love, Candy and Roel.
Love your videos!! And love the idea about not being attached to a job location! But I have to ask, what about health insurance for a family of 4? That’s gotta be a fortune without a large company subsidizing it
@@AddictedtotheMouse didn’t even think about that! How awesome!! My husband and I just went through a similar situation to yours with buying a house in Horizon West (Hamlin to be specific) while being in New Jersey! We closed in February and hope to be down there soon once our condo finishes closing here!
Hi i’m new to your channel and am curious what’s it like to be a travel agent? Is it possible to do a video to discuss the pros and cons of being a travel agent? How do you get started? I would love to travel a lot one day and would love to be a travel agent. Thanks for sharing 😊
Yes! That’s definitely on our list of future videos. We love being travel agents but it does take a little while to build your business. It’s a great side hustle to start that you can grow over several years as big as you want. If you like podcasts, check out our podcast (Addicted to the Mouse). We did an episode last September talking about exactly this. Thanks for watching and reaching out!
What are you doing for health insurance? My husband is close to retirement but we have two adult dependents to care for so we are looking at health insurance options. Enjoying your journey!
What do you do about benefits, like health insurance and long term disability? Can you find good benefits for self-employed that aren’t godly expensive?
Good question - something we have been working on. I think with any small business, that is an evolving issue. Our plan is to use the marketplace initially since we only have independent contractors working with us at the moment and then transition to small business benefits as we grow.
We have been planning to relocate to Orlando for a while and we keep pushing the date back due to our jobs. This video was so helpful. Thank you so much!

You are true Disney fans to do something this dedicated! I think it's great why not do something you really love!

Thanks!! The government subsidizes health insurance through the exchange based on your income. It’s a little more expensive but not a fortune.
