    By request, the chopper used is a Kuhn Rikon manual food chopper. The one shown was a gift from 3 or 4 years ago. An updated version can be found here:

    Great video & information.
    I looked up uses for pecan meal and this popped up, "You can use it for breading chicken or fish before frying or baking. It can be worked into pie crusts to add a nuttiness (and we all know how good pecan pie can be!), or used as a topping to fruity desserts. If you like pecans, pecan meal can go just about everywhere on everything."

    Nice investment! i appreciate the reminder about fats too... I actually haven’t grown sunflowers in a few years, since moving from Kentucky, It’s probably a good idea to stack a dozen packets in my SHTF packet stash and rotate out every few years. I haven’t seen any pecan trees in my little subsdivision (mower reasons probably) so I am going to try to identify the one I can find within walking distance. Good video, appreciate this 🙏

    I will do this bro this is basically the healthiest oil one can get. hey man you should try to put the meat that is coming back again to get the extra oil that might be left like a second chance or may be even a 3rd turn.

    • @PalmettoPrepared
      @PalmettoPrepared  3 роки тому

      Truthfully it's so dry after that first run there really is nothing left to squeeze. The pecans essentially turn into pencil shavings. They work great on oatmeal though. Or mixed into a pancake batter.

    That is really nice you got so much oil! Do a video making something like chicken fried steak with it! Would love to see how it does in the fryer! I do wonder if running it through a paper filter would raise the smoke point of the oil.
    Like you mentioned, people just don't get how vital fat is and how crazy rare it was in the past. Fat is so important and vital and the old lovely southern method of frying food is a great way to add fat and taste to very lean meats!
    PS - You say pecan just fine! Hahahah
