It looks like the guy (or someone) is still trying to sell them on Ebay, but for much less: $1,495. :-) The expert dude put the following on his website after the Pawn Stars episode: "It turns out they were diagrams from a Naval Academy textbook, printed many years after the Spanish American War. Battleship technology was still studied by Midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy, and these pictures were fold-out supplements from the book. The notion that the US Government would send top-secret plans for their latest battleship off to a German printer in town, to be printed, was unfathomable. "
Nice! Thanks for the info, I was wondering what they really were. Getting 25k would have been a pretty big score, but they probably aren't worth 250 USD
LOL. Nearly 7 years later, the guy is still trying to sell these on Ebay. Dude, get the message: NO ONE is gunna pay anywhere near what you're asking (9 grand!!!). I'll probably check in again in another year when I see the episode repeated for the tenth time. :-)
Someone sold me autographs that turned out to me old xerox photocopies. They were wondering why I was complaining and believed I was wrong. I threw them away.
Yea, but it's the same guy who's trying to sell them. It's not a different set of identical drawings being sold, it's just the same guy trying to sell them.

This guys only reason for why it's 1889 is that it says 1889 on it. So if I write 2010 on my homework today does that mean it was from 2010?

its a devil wears prada moment, his opinion is the only one that matters. sellers need to get a clue.
And now a days they are up for 4,495. Well they say you miss 100% of the swings you don't take.
